I paid $32000.00 for a new roof. They used 2 different batches of product and so the colours are off. They put the different batch on the back of the roof where I couldn't see it at first, but it is plain as day now !!
I paid them in cash and they were to register the warranty, which they never did !!
I had the original sales contract that totalled $32000.00, but the girl in the office ended up sending me a new invoice purporting that the contract total was $20000.00. It is my belief that the salesman ended up getting left over batches of roofing, hence the different colours.
Also there was a referral program for putting up signage on your lawn. If someone purchased a roof after seeing our roof a $500 referral fee was to be paid in cash to us ! I ended up showing the roof and spending time with a homeowner who saw the sign and our roof and they bought a new roof and they never paid me !!
I purchased a steel roof through this company. I put a deposit down on my roof of $6000. I have not heard from this company, and no response to messages, emails, and texts. It appears they went out of business and I might have to fight for any of my deposit back.
I bought a new roof from this company with the Idea that I would be trouble free because of the life warranty on the product. I also assumed that if anything went wrong these people would help fix it. Today I have a leak on the roof which is causing evoc with my house. I have tried to contact them to see if they can send someone to look at it and hopefully fix the problem but so far I have had no response. Their employee Kim says that to send someone there is a cover charge of $250.00. but even so I still don't get anyone to try to fix the problem. My contact was Tom Burns, Greg Burns and now I see Jeremy Burns. This employee Kim says that my house is not listed in their computer. I have to assume that I have been defrauded by this Tom Burns. The problem is where do I go from here? I still have the leak and when I call a roofing guy to check it they say that they don't know how to work with this kind of metal roofing.
If you need a metal roof this is not the company to call, I am pulling my hair out right now.
We recently purchased a home that had a Kassel & Groves metal roof installed by Ontario Shake N’ Tile in 2012. The previous owner left us a file related to the roof including the manufacturer warranty and the business card and invoice from installer. We transferred the Kassel warranty to us. The first winter we had a leak in the kitchen when it rained. Called installer, who advised that leaks are not covered by the warranty. We were dumbfounded. After talking to local roofers, they said that was total BS. Called installer again woman I spoke to was rude, uncooperative and very vague. I asked what their warranty covered, she didn’t respond to question and asked what issue was. When I said leaks she said not covered. Then when I pushed she said its because we were second owner, Again, total BS. Stay away from this company!!!!!!
Quick to take your money but fails miserably on follow up. Paid $27k for new metal roof and they installed vinyl roof vents when metal was specified (and pretty obvious when you have a metal roof?. WTF? They refuse to follow up and fix the issues with this and the metal flashing that’s pulling away from the brick.
Ryan the sales manager made a great presentation. He explain how they installed there product with no screws or nails that would show, he then explained because we have a cathedral ceiling the roof vent we have on are no good it’s just like there is no venting at all, they would install a ridge vent which is the best way to vent.
We also talked about snow guards and he said the installers knows better than he how many they need and where to install them, he put 15 on the contract and I had no idea if this is good or not but believed that installers would know and install the correct amount.
After numerous text and calls they finally installed the roof on Nov-28, 1 month later than date agreed on.
I had to work that day but came home around 1pm on Nov-28 and the first thing I saw was the normal roof vent like the ones we had and was supposed to be no good at all.
I explained what Ryan had told us about the vent, but the installer said they couldn’t install the ridge vent because a 2x4 was in the way??? And he said they are as good as ridge vent.
They installed a couple of snow guards and did not have enough to finish but promised they would stop and install more on the way back from there other jobs in 10 days.
After 2 weeks I called head office and talked to Dan and he told me the guys would be there to install the snow guards soon. A week went by and I called Dan again and he seemed surprised the guys had not done it and said they would be there in 2 to 4 days! Nobody showed up again.
Left email to Dan and Jeremy (must be Dan’s boss) says I have to pay an extra $25 each and I would probably need another 30!!!
They did not even install some over the side door!!!!
I paid big money for the roof and it should have been included as I had talk to the sales manager about it and was agreed on.
The product looks good but communication is terrible and I hope I don’t have to use the warranty because who knows what that will be like.
I would not recommend this company because communication is terrible and you can’t believe anything they tell you.
Never saw a company who can screw people and be so smug about it, not responding when they are contacted about issues. Paid over $33000.00 for a new roof that leaks in 3 places. Contacted them several times and even their tech that inspected it said that there were several issues in which they still have not done anything and do not respond to phone calls or emails! This company is a joke; stay away, stay far away from using them!
Jeremy and Dan, you guys got my money but I hope that I can save people from losing like I did to you guys! Karma is something that will happen to you eventually!
I would never hire this company again, the experience we had with them was so horrible. On he first day of work the guys sat and drank beer , then went back up on our roof, after my husband told them they were not allowed to drink beer on the job, damaged my flower shrubs and laughed, ripped the screen on our window and never said sorry, left garbage and cigarette butts in the eavestrough, one day three came to work and one slept in the truck all day, found nails , shingles, and garbage in my gardens, they left their garbage on our property, example: food boxes, rotton meat packages, empty beer bottles etc.The workmanship was poor, cut shingles uneven and not put on straight, again etc.Contacted Better Business , Consumers Affair and have not be able to get help or results, contacted Ontario Shake'n Tile to get them to do the right thing and give us back the money for their labour, but they just keep giving us the run around. So disappointing that customers are getting treated like this without any precautions ,these individuals were not professionals.
