This company is very unprofessional. After finishing their fence work, they had left all the small pieces of waste wood on my property along with 3 garbage bags. I asked them kindly to take it with them, they said they will but after paying them in full, they disappeared without doing any of the work. I had to get rid of their waste from my property myself. I had a very bad experience dealing with Ben Kalles and I will never do business with Orbach Homes.
Nick is Fab's neighbour (read other review). Like Nick stated in his review, " I asked them kindly to take it with them, they said they will but after paying them in full". Orbach Homes has no problems removing the 3 garbage bags (which is not Orbach Homes garbage) and the 3 pieces of fence boards as long as we receive full payment. An outstanding balance is still owed to Orbach Homes.
I had a very bad experience with Orbach Homes, especially with Ben Kalles. I paid him the full amount owing and he gave me an unfinished Fence. The bottom pieces of my fence was missing, when I asked him why he didn't finish it, he told me that I had to pay extra. My neighbour and I got the fence done at the same time and payed the same 30$/SqFt. My neighbour got his fence finished but mine was undone. Because I was the last one to get my fence done on the street, he ran out of supplies and instead of finishing my fence, he left it unfinished. He had signed a contract with me showing that he will honour the price at 30$/SqFt but duped me at the end. I guess thats what happens when you trust somebody and pay them in full. TO ALL GENUINE HOMEOWNERS OUT THERE, READ YOUR CONTRACTS CAREFULLY AND MAKE SURE YOU DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY OTHERWISE YOU'LL END UP FINISHING YOUR OWN FENCE!
This is not the first time Orbach Homes has discussed business with Mr. Wakeel. We were approached by a neighbour of Khalid s at the beginning of spring 2015 regarding a fence for not only himself, but 10 other neighbours on the same street. During this time, we were offering a $30 per linear foot. Mr. Wakeel did NOT want a fence at this time and was never a client of Orbach Homes. Closer to the fall of 2015, Khalid s back neighbour wanted their fence completed and when asked again about a fence, Mr. Khalid was not interested.
In March of 2016, Orbach Homes was called by a new client living further down on Mr. Khalid's street. After singing up the remaining 14 neighbours, Orbach Homes approached Mr. Khalid one last time. Mr. Khalid was in fact interested in completing his fence this time, as he would only be liable to pay for the one remaining side. Khalid s neighbour to the left and the back paid for the fences the prior year. On top of only having to pay for one portion of his fence, Mr. Wakeel also wanted to pay the same price offered to him over a year ago. Orbach Home always strives to keep clients happy, however due to inflation of material, the cost this year has gone up to $32 per linear foot. A jump just big enough to cover the material costs and nothing else. Khalid was very stern about not signing up unless he paid last years price. We agreed on the price but informed Mr. Khalid that he would not be getting the exact same product as the other neighbours. They would have 2 extra pieces of wood that would enhance the appearance of the fence, but nothing to do with the structural integrity. At that time, he firmly said he doesn't care. If you pay less money, you can t expect to get a premium product. We provide quality work and a finished product to all our clients, but the design on a particular job is based on how much you re willing to spend to achieve the look you want.
A week after finishing the fence and collecting Mr. Wakeel s outstanding payment, Daniel Orbach and Ben Kalles were approached by him, in the backyard of a different client and harassed and threatened Orbach Homes in a number of ways. Mr. Khalid threaten us screaming if we don't put in the extra design pieces, he will knock on every door and tell them not to pay which he did.
The thing is, our work speaks for ourselves. Despite the bad reviews, Orbach Homes does not feel discouraged the slightest bit. We are confident in the work and customer service we provide. If Orbach Homes was truly incompetent, we wouldn t have neighbours from the street over signing up for fences. We also wouldn t have the number of in-home renovations from basements to bathrooms, that we ve completed simultaneously to the fences. We are human, we can t please everyone. However, we will attest that we leave majority of our client s houses with a finished product and a smile on their face. Unfortunately, it s hard to do that when the client never intended to pay you in the first place.
If you are having any work done to your property, big or small, we urge you to call us and find out for yourself. We re not monsters or con-artists. In fact, we urge you to shop around and get a few other quotes when looking at a job. YES, WE ARE THAT CONFIDENT IN THE SERVICES WE PROVIDE.
Our house was in need of a paint job and Orbach Homes came highly recommended. They were very helpful in explaining the work to be done based on our needs and budget. They provided paint color recommendations that complimented our open concept design and their attention to detail surpassed our expectations. Our house required some patch work and sanding and we were so happy to come home to a neat and clean space over the duration of the job. I love the way our place looks! Higly recommend these guys who are reliable and do a quality job!!!
We hired Orbach Homes to do some general contract work (painting, drywall, install laminate flooring, install potlights and light fixtures) on the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed.
Daniel provided a fair and reasonable quote and a start date was mutually agreed upon. Daniel's team arrived on time and cleaned up after each day's work, which we were very particular about.
We had to make a few adjustments due to unforeseen issues, but Daniel kept us informed throughout the entire process and easily accommodated the changes. The drywall work was exceptional.
Not only was the job done to our satisfaction, Daniel was a pleasure to work with as was his electrician, Rob. We would recommend hiring Orbach Homes for any general contracting work and will consider using them again for future work.
