Ken recently renovated our master and guest bathrooms - completely re-tiling our bathroom showers.
My husband and I are relatively new homeowners and this was our first time having any type of construction done on our home. We met with quite a few (roughly 7 or 8) different contractors in the area, and Ken was, undoubtedly, the best choice. He promptly responded to our inquiry, came to our home for a consultation, and provided us with a quote (all within about 1 business day of our request - this was unlike any of the other contractors we contacted).
Ken happily and quickly answered every single one of our questions (and we had a ton) - where to buy tile, what kind of tile is best, where to find a shower base, what type of caulking to use, where to find shower fixtures, what brand is best, etc.
Ken and his team were so pleasant to have at our home! They were always cheery, a pleasure to speak with, tidy, and on time. Each day, Ken would brief us on what he had done, and what his next steps were, which both my husband and I found very helpful!
Their craftsmanship is excellent too! Ken even recommended designs for how to install our shower tile to make it more aesthetically pleasing for re-sale value.
We couldn't be any more pleased with Ken, his team, and their work! We absolutely recommend him and would unquestionably hire him again.
Thank you! It was a real pleasure!
Ken Miller replaced and repaired 2 bathrooms which the previous contractor had built but we had never been able to use because they leaked water through the ceilings destroying the drywall. Ken identified the problem, fixed both bathrooms, made good design suggestion and completed the work on time and on budget. After being burned before, it was such a nice experience to work with Ken. He is pleasant, keeps you informed and kept his work area clean and tidy and left us with nothing left to do but enjoy our new bathrooms.
Thanks Christine! It was our pleasure!
Ken
I did not like his work because it was sloppy. The painting he did of the walls had streaks and there were places where the paint looked like it had run. He was unwilling to make it right. There were portions of the trim that were not painted and when I pointed this out he said that no one would see as it was behind a door. He told me he painted the trim, but he did not. The grout in the tile is cracking. Since he hung up on me when I called and told him all of this I am hesitant to call him back. So much for his guarantee.
I am not hard to please when the quality of the work is good. The contractors response did not mention that he hung up on me because he did not want to hear what I was saying. I did not say anything about being over budget just that it was average. From a distance the bathroom looks good but on close inspection there are things that are not right. So, when can I expect a call to correct problem areas?
we started judiths small powder room update Tuesday july 4th, finished up Friday july 8th..this was supposed to be a minor update for them to sell house..bathroom had been very poorly painted in a 1980s purplish color, laminate was on floor and vanity toilet change..we painted 4 coats to cover fully, repaired wainscoting etc,..her old trim was reused due to budget restrictions.. kept the place immaculately clean throughout, she was very satisfied when we left...I told her that I was working in Kanata for the next week, and if she required any touch-ups, just call and give me a list!...she called a few days later and asked for touch-ups on wall paint..we scheduled for a couple days later, went and applied another coat to walls, 5th coat now...at that time I was shown a small area about 1 inch by two inches on trim behind door that paint was missed..i did not have paint with me at that time as I was not told about it beforehand..i rescheduled once again to do that(30 seconds work), but they were out of town for a week and I was working in Orleans after that...I told her that I would pop by next time I was in area! Bathroom turned out pretty, on time and on budget...see attached pics and judge for yourself...some people you can just never please!
As you can see from attached bill of sale her parts bill was $120 not over bill as she claims and work was complete in 4 business days!
From the first visit to my home, Ottawa Bathroom Renovations owner Ken has put me at complete ease with his very friendly nature and calm demeanor, his professionalism and his extensive knowledge pertaining home building as well as commercial construction (I live in a large condo/apartment building in Ottawa).
After having had a few other quotes from different companies, I felt most confident about Ken's qualifications, knowledge and quality, and have therefore gone ahead with Ottawa Bathroom Renovations for a full renovation (complete gut and rebuild) of my powder room.
And this has been proven to be a very good decision and am finding myself so very pleased with the service I've received throughout as well as the end result! Ken was attentive to my wants and my needs and helped me put together the vision that I had in mind for my ideal bathroom. Not to mention, the renovation was completed on time and on budget.
My powder room is now my pride and joy! And I very much look forward to working with Ken in the near future for the overhaul of my main bathroom!!
Many more thanks for everything!
