Not a good experience and would definitely not recommend!
Context: I scheduled a service to detect a leakage in my unit. I spoke to a customer representative named Amber, and during our call, we agreed that the service was going to cost $45.00 plus HST just for the leakage assessment. The plumber showed up and demanded $120 for leak assessment and then he bought a camera to look inside the walls for leaking pipes and said it will be $360. We respectfully declined their service. And since they provided no service, I am obligated to not pay anything. Since then, they are calling and texting me and threatening with collections. These guy are scammers! And do not care about their customers. Be aware!
This company is a rip off. They came out to estimate the work. Came up with an outrageous amount so they obviously didn't want the job and then sent me a bill for the service call. I refused to pay and now they sent it to collections. Beware!
I hope this post will reach as many viewers as possible.
Plumbers on demand advertise themselves aggressively in order to appear on top of google's results page. Please don't fall into the same trap as I did! There are many other options available in the Halton region!
These people are not trustworthy at all. They have non transparent pricing and will exaggerate the magnitude of the required repair to charge you more.
Based on my example - I had a drain clog and and called plumbers on demand around 3pm on Sunday. The promised that that plumber will be there between 4 to 5 pm. The guy allocated to us postponed his visit 3 times until he finally arrived at 7pm. He knew we don't have any other option because it was so late. He said that the repair requires the high-tech Milwaukee machine and will take between 30 and 40 minutes. He asked 575 CAD + tax (!!!) for that. I probably should have told him to leave my house, probably I was out of my mind and agreed. His 'job' took him 5 minutes to complete. He clearly took advantage of the late time and that I was completely clueless about plumbing. He even didn't clean up the mess he left.
Long story short - DO NOT hire these guys for any job.
Run away from this company. They will charge you hundreds and do nothing. It would be zero stars if that was an option.
They gave me an ETA of 1-3pm the next day. He arrived at 7pm clearly wanting to leave as soon as possible. We explained the tub began filling up and the toilet began leaking at the same time so they may be connected. He treats the toilet on its own first by replacing the seal with one we had purchased. Then tells us the price. Says to use a snake on the tub drain at all will be hundreds more. There’s a $250 fee if you don’t pay for them to do what they quote, and when asked what that includes if not diagnosing the issue he says he ran the faucet so that covers his inspection.
We agree he can use the snake. He declares the issue fixed! We turn on the tub and it fills up quickly. He says there can’t be a block because it’s draining, even though it’s just as slow as before he did anything. We argue, he puts down a bigger snake in the tub. Then we see the toilet is leaking again. He argues it’s a wet towel on the floor. We prove it’s the toilet and he finally agrees the problem must be related and it’s the main drain. He put it in writing that he went 75 ft down the main drain and it was completely clear, so contact the county.
The sewer inspection for the county showed a block only 45 ft down. We spent three days without a toilet complaining to the company before they sent back the same guy who used the same tool. I asked about using a bigger cutter head, but he said no this will clear anything. Then he says there actually is a spot he can’t get through, must be a cracked pipe and he’ll need another $600 or so to use a camera to see the issue (even though the pipe is full of brown water so visibility would be almost zero). We refused, he left. Contacted the company with our concerns that he clearly lied to us as he changed his story, and they said since I had a “loose in confidence” of their plumber and won’t pay them more “our relation is terminated”. Being professionals, they ended the email “with thx”.
They refuse to respond to a request for refund. $650 spent and absolutely nothing was fixed. My cousin rented a snake with bigger cutter heads and got the drain cleared.
Absolutly the worst
Was charged $700 dollars to snake a drainage pipe that was overflowing in my basement.
They took 20 min to do the job. The plumber said it was fixed....3 days later my basement is covered in fecal mater, so I called them again to say that the problem wasn't fixed. They told my it would cost an additional 700 dollars plus 500 to 600 for them to use a camera....called other companies and every other plumber I called said they would have first used the camera to determine what was wrong and would have charged 300 bucks at the most!
This place is a complete rip off...they are a scam...do not ever use them for anything!
I'm so angry and complained to my insurance company for recomending them.
Use anyone else but these guys! Absolutely horrible.
I am a home owner who used Martin Lazy and plumber on demand. They came to my house and fixed a burst pipe. After paying way too much for that they demanded to do the clean-up. By then my insurance company had sent legitimate restoration contractors in and they were ready to start. Martin Lazi refused to leave and said his guys were going to do the clean-up (whether I liked it or not). I didn't sign any contract and asked him to leave and he refused. The Police had to come and remove him. Three days later I got a bill for $11,000.00 - and now he is suing me for that much money. Please call my lawyers if you want to help. Help me stop this crook.
I had a leak when the toilet was flushed. Called Plumber on Demand and they sent George (Martin Lazi). He quoted $380 plus tax to change the wax seal. Not knowing any better, I went ahead with it. My mistake. Should have done my homework.
I hope anyone else having any plumbing issues will read this and stay from Plumber on Demand.
Do not hire these people, they are exploiters. I was charged more than $700 for a job, an emergency, that took 45 minutes. The plumber, George, was belligerent and didn't clean up after himself. Don't go near this numty. A couple of weeks after the job I noticed a leak where the work had been done. It took more than two days of threatening social media outing and complaining to licencing bodies before they came and fixed the job. They will gaslight you if you complain. They do not return phone calls. They do not offer a warranty, you have to specifically ask for it. Not that it's worth much, but in doing so I had at least a chance. The only person with a public face at POD is one Martin, presumably their accountant and possibly an owner.
