I am very dissatisfied with the results of windows installation and post-sale service. The work was done in July 2021. The installation team was rushing to finish everything in one day and move on with another customer. I contacted post-sales department and reported several issues (bended window frames, moldings misalignments).
It has been more than 4 months already that I am trying to make Factory Direct fix all the mess. Nothing works. The post-sales representative just keeps promising that all the issues will be resolved within a week.
I don't know what are the possible effects of frame bending on windows insulation and performance. I am concerned given that winter is coming.
The moldings the company promotes are made of plastic. I wanted another kind, but was convinced by the sales representative that these ones are of good quality. The moldings come pre-fabricated based on the windows measurements. If the windows are not perfectly aligned, the moldings could be adjusted to cover the difference. In my case, the installation team refused to do it. I was told that this material cannot be cut, which is hard to believe. If I want to have different moldings, I have to pay again for the material and work.
I also had to buy curtains to restore some privacy and hide from the sun exposure ($400 extra) because it makes no sense to put back my rolling blinds before the repair is done.
What else I can do to protect my investments and get all the issues fixed?

Warranty | LIFETIME TRANSFERABLE WARRANTY Factory Direct Windows & Doors., herein referred to as "direct", the supplier of all vinyl windows which are the subject matter hereof, warrants to the Owner against faulty workmanship or defective material, as specified under this Warranty, proven to have occurred as a direct result of the manufacturing process, for the following window parts and components during the stated time period, under normal and reasonable use and service, subject to the terms and conditions contained in this Warranty. LIFETIME WARRANTY ON WINDOW FRAME AND SASH MEMBERS Direct warrants that the vinyl frame and sash members will not fade, discolour, blister, peel, flake, corrode or distort beyond generally accepted industry standards for as long as you own your home. This warranty applies to products manufactured within the size limitations specified by Direct. All vinyl window compounds we use in our main frames and sashes contain titanium dioxide to help our windows resist fading. Some fading is inevitable depending on the degree of direct exposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun. The darker the colour, the higher the degree of heat in and on the frames and the higher degree of potential fading. Atmospheric conditions (high altitude), pollution and residues deposited on the windows can discolour them. The colour brown is the most subject to whitening as the titanium dioxide comes to the surface of the vinyl. Over a period of time the colour may need to be buffed, cleaned with a mild soap or wiped down with a vinyl plasticizer. We therefore warrant any discoloration not to be outside industry standards. LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY ON HARDWARE COMPONENTS AND COLOURED WINDOWS In addition to any warranties provided by our hardware suppliers, all hardware, components and coloured windows are warranted for as long as you own your home as set out in the following pro-rated schedule: Direct Owner Up to 25 years 100% 0% 25 to 30 years 50% 50% Over 30 years 25% 75% |
