Precision has looked after our place for almost 10 years now, both an old house and new. In the first house, they did an interlock driveway and front walkway. I parked a truck on it for 5 years and not a bit of movement in the stones. 2nd house was a similar but larger project with flower bed, interlock driveway and walkway. It was a more artistic design and has been just as durable. They've also done maintained the property - definitely worth it not to have to cut every week. Thanks for the great work guys. - Chris
My experience with Precision Landscaping was altogether just awful. Unfortunately, we dealt with Martein to build our small stone patio for the backyard. My husband sent Martein detailed sketches and pictures of the backyard. He claimed he had enough information and that he didn’t need to come on-site. He emailed a contract with his fee in early May, and said the work would be completed by mid-June. Fast forward to July 1 and we were told the stone that Martein suggested for our patio is out of stock. He suggested a new stone, that he said he had made sure was in stock and available for delivery. Martein came to our house to mark up our backyard and suddenly made adjustments to the scope of work, which would now cost an extra $2300 including the new stone. We begrudgingly agreed because we just wanted to get things moving. We then realized that Precision was sub-contracting the work without our knowledge. Furthermore, after sitting at home and waiting for this new stone to arrive, we found out by calling Beaver Valley Stone ourselves, that the stone was considered a special order because it wasn’t in stock, and that it would likely arrive in a couple of weeks. We informed Martein that we were disappointed because it was our understanding that the stone was in stock when we agreed to the added cost, and that we weren’t thrilled with yet another delay. In response, Martein sent us an incredibly unprofessional and condescending email, informing us that he wasn’t going to “waste any more time giving us lessons in life”. He blamed the weather, covid-19, the staff at Beaver Valley and us. My husband spoke to Steve and asked to have someone different placed on the job as Martein was highly unprofessional and extremely rude to deal with. Steve then informed us that the stone was in fact delayed and that he was cancelling our contract and giving us our deposit back. My mistake was that I chose to go with Precision Landscaping, given that I had other highly professional landscaping companies that were willing and able to do the job. They left us high and dry and scrambling to find a different solution. Fortunately, we contacted another large landscaping company and they were incredible from start to finish. We weren’t looked down on because of the size of our backyard. They listened to our needs from the beginning and they were very eager to help. They used high quality materials for our patio, and they made it larger than what we were originally supposed to have with Precision, and we paid less. They were able to accomplish in a few days what Precision couldn’t do in a month. I would NEVER recommend dealing with Precision Landscaping. There are better options out there, that will handle things with honesty, integrity and with professionalism.
I m sorry your project did not work out as we all hoped. I tried everything I could to find the materials you wanted but it simply was not available due to manufacturing delays. The same delays happened on previous projects and we worked with those customers to choose alternative materials that turned out great even though it cost a little more in some cases. Those clients understood the situation we are all in and worked with us. We do large and small projects and have never turned down a customer because their project is to small. We have an amazing track record of great customer service and excellent workmanship. Our stellar reviews are a testament to that. I would appreciate if you did not drag the suppliers into this because they had nothing to do with this. They are in the same boat and just doing their best to source and supply the materials we want. I m happy to hear you and Jennifer were able to get your projects completed and wish you all the best.
I will start by saying this company has many positive reviews and that is why I didn’t hesitate in hiring them to do our backyard patio BUT don’t let the good reviews fool you. Martein who represents this company is unprofessional and doesn’t care about his customers. He continuously makes false promises and gives you the run around. Our job was on the smaller side but I am still a paying customer and shouldn’t be treated any differently than the bigger jobs they do. Martein hesitantly came to quote the job. At first he wanted to do it all over the phone and by email even belittling me saying this was a straightforward job and he didn’t want to waste his time coming out. I wanted him to come see what he was working with so I could get an exact price with no onsite surprises, so he agreed. He came and his suggestions helped make my decision to hire him. He sent over the contract and took a deposit in mid-May with the promise to have the job completed by mid-June. That deadline came and went with still no word from Martein. A simple call or email to say we’re running behind would have gone a long way, but nope, nothing. We had to email him to find out the job was being delayed. End of June rolls around and he told us the stone he originally quoted us on is no longer in stock and this is what was holding him up from starting the job. He came back to my house on July 1st to start marking the grass to make it seem like he was going to start working very shortly and to give us the option of choosing a new stone that would end up costing us an additional $800 + taxes. Obviously we weren’t happy with this extra cost, the delay and run around so naturally we pushed back. Martein started dropping F-bombs, saying things like I’m only making $500 to do this job and even saying I don’t even want to do these small jobs. He blamed rain, even though we’ve had very little, and g-d for creating covid for the extra costs and delays. We agreed to proceed because at this point everywhere else was booked solid and he told us the new more expensive stone was in stock and would be delivered that Friday or Saturday. Stupidly we believed his word, that’s our fault. On Saturday when the stones weren’t delivered we called Beaver Valley where he was getting the stone from to find out the stone wasn’t coming any time soon because it was a special order and not in stock. When I brought this point to Martein’s attention he got all flustered and it took me, the customer, telling him to call Beaver Valley and straighten this all out. You can imagine my frustration at this point. Martein calls back later that day to tell me that Beaver Valley DOES have the stone in stock and it should be delivered on Monday. Great, I’m highly doubtful but give him a deadline of Monday end of day or we would cancel the whole job. He didn’t care because as he said earlier he ‘didn’t want to do this job anyway’. Monday comes around, I get an email from Martein saying the stone isn’t being delivered, he’s cancelling the job and giving me back my deposit, which he did. This may seem very long winded but I want to make people who are considering using Precision aware that they aren’t all they are cracked up to be. In the end we got another company to come and do the job, they were able to squeeze us in between other jobs they had on the go. This new company blew us away with how professional they were. They arrived on time as promised and had no issue with stone delivery. Martein I invite you and Precision to my backyard to take notes and a look at what a phenomenal job this other company did without causing their customers any frustration. If you are reading this and considering hiring Precision Landscaping for your upcoming projects I highly recommend you reconsider. It simply is not worth the headache when there are far more professional companies out there to choose from.
I m deeply sorry for the frustration you went through. It has been a challenging season so far because of covid related delays and stock shortages. We do our best by planning ahead to keep things as smooth as possible for our clients. Unfortunately with your project we were not able to get the materials you wanted initially. I recommended the next best option but it was going to cost a little more. The stone was ordered and scheduled for delivery. The suppliers do not provide delivery times which is why I could not provide you a date and time for delivery and I explained this to you. The new stone was ordered Saturday afternoon right before the supplier closed then Sunday you gave me an ultimatum that if the stone is not delivered by Monday then you will cancel. Standard delivery times are 3-5 business days. Monday was not possible for delivery so the project got cancelled. I m happy to hear that you were able to get the project completed and wish you all the best.
Precision is the definition of professionalism, efficiency and good workmanship. Among the contractors we have worked with in the past, they have presented the most outstanding design and craftsmanship at competitive pricing. I have nothing but wonderful things to say, hope to see you guys again for my next project. We used them to construct us a nice PVC deck and revitalize our front and back yard gardens. 5 stars.
