Ryan was efficient, knowledgeable and professional. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and provided knowledgeable expertise to assist us in how we should proceed. Ryan provided us with an estimate and quote before proceeding and was a pleasure to work with.
Awesome to work with, very knowledgeable and friendly. On time and ready to work daily. It was a pleasure to deal with Ryan. I would recommend his company to others that are in need of help with basement renovations.
Thanks again Ryan
We hired Red Isle Construction foe the second time in a year to do another bathroom renovation that included flooring, drywall, flat coat ceiling, custom cabinetry, tile, plumbing, electrical, painting and installing accessories and over all project management.
Ryan is very professional. The worksite is clean and all the work is done to a high standard. His company covers all the trades that are required. He communicates when challenges happen and what the plan is.
I recommend Red Isle Construction.
Hi John,
Thanks for the great review. it is always a pleasure working for you and the eye you guys have for self designing really helps. I hope the reno to the bathroom makes your home much more enjoyable. And I look forward to helping you with any other future projects you may have, enjoy your summer.
Thanks
Ryan
Excellent experience. Ryan was very open and honest about cost of installation and the
risks that might occur with our awning and how we could mitigate them if agreed. He was professional and got the work done as agreed. We are pleased with the installation.
Hi Jo-Ann,
Thanks for the review. it was a pleasure working for you even though it was a small project it was great working in the lovely yard you have set up.
Thanks
Ryan
Ryan always does quality work! He was able to start my reno job quickly, starting with a bedroom, overhauling my laundry room with a refreshed look, and a complete basement painting refresh! Loving the refresh!
Hi Catherine,
Thanks for the great review. it is always a pleasure working for you, you always know exactly what you want and it does make it easy to fix or do the repairs needed on your home.
Thanks
Ryan
We hired Red Isle to do some smallish projects. Ryan was cheerful and pleasant to work with. He provided good suggestions and ideas for the work we wanted done. Work done was of good quality, and work areas were kept pretty clean.
Responsiveness to emails/texts, and overall timeliness of completion of the project was not as good as we would have liked, although some of this may have been attributable to loss of personnel, midway through the job.
Hi Jody,
I am so very sorry about the timeline for this project. It got out of my hands with my supplier. I assure you I was on them every day I did not feel it was worth the grief to inform you every day on the progress to only grow your frustration as it was growing on my end enough with my dealings on this, in turn I have since removed that supplier from my contact due to this project and the way they did not help me on my time frame. Yes I also did have some employee issues both on the lack of being present and the lack of knowledge that they initially said they had. I do truly apologize for the time frame of how the project went. I do assure you that it was never my intention to have it go that way, I did everything I could possibly do to get it back on track to even push off other projects as soon as I had materials in hand to complete yours.
We were very satisfied by the work done. It was completed within the deadline as promised and we felt the cost was fair.
Hi tammy. It was a pleasure to do your project for you... you have such a wonderful property considering how close to inner city it is.... hope you and your new dog enjoy your space to play in now.
We've used Ryan and Red Isle Construction previously for two complete bathroom renovations, so he was our obvious choice for our next renovation project.
This time it was a wide mix of things we wanted done. Upstairs we wanted to get new upgraded carpet throughout and also have warm and cold air central return ducts to both bedrooms installed where we had electric baseboard before. Also new carpet on the stairs.
All this as well has having one bedroom repainted was done exceptionally well. Since he already had the old carpet removed and was dealing with running the air ducts, he also added in cat 6 so we now have direct internet connections in each room.
Downstairs, we had our kitchen floor completely redone, removing our ancient ceramic tile and replacing it with new ceramic tile, removing old wall coverings and repainting the entire kitchen, removing a cast iron stove and replacing old back door with new. Also other nice things we hadn't thought about were done at the same time: Our old dull kitchen lights were replaced with new energy efficient led fixtures, our very old furnace thermostat was replaced with something more modern, and lighting for the hallway was improved by adding second switch since the wall was already opened up for the heating duct work that was happening.
It's all the extras that really make me impressed with Ryan. I love how he thinks and I know he will do it right the first time.
Oh, and another thing that wasn't planned at the time but still happened was a new set of stairs off our deck because the old ones were falling apart!
We'll definitely have Red Isle Construction back for our next projects, and next year it will very likely be a complete new deck to replace the aging one we have now.
Thanks Ryan and team for an awesome job!
Hi Harry,
Thank you very much for the great reply/review. It is always such a wonderful time coming out to work with you and pat on your charming little home with its quirks and all. With you and pat all the best and don t hesitate to contact me if you have any future projects that need to be completed.
Thanks,
Ryan
Short version: You WON'T be disappointed
When I joined this site almost a year ago I started to look for a contractor to develop my unfinished basement. I have always been someone who tries to do a little bit of research before committing to something. My basement was the first major project I have ever done so i would consider myself a novice when it comes to renovations.
I can say that using this website and moreso choosing a reputable contractor was the best decision I could have made. Ryan has set the bar high for me moving forward on craftsmanship, advice and integrity.
He worked from March 2017 and completing the final touches in June 2017. He took the vision we had for the basement and really ran with it without little to no oversight. The great thing about Ryan is he will be honest and speak his mind if there is a bad idea (and yes I had a few), and provide you with expert advice on how he would do it with a non-salesmen approach.
The scope consisted of a fully in wired speaker system, projector, 110" sceen, built in wall CUSTOM AV cabinet (sexy I may add), bathroom, wall niche, and luxury vinyl floor. There are too many things he did that I don't want to list but its the small details that add up that really make it the room feel top notch. Ryan also wired the theater area with cat 5 which made it the cats a$$ for hooking up keyboard / mouse / subwoofer.
If there was anything I would criticize is that Ryan's schedule was busy with jobs and wasn't able to work a full week all the time. However, I would add that his communication was top notch and provided us with notice on the progress and what the upcoming schedule looked like.
In terms of quality I didn't experience anything that i ended up saying "i dont like that". I believe the main reason is because he really drills down (no pun intended) on your vision to execute it perfectly.
I will be calling him again on my next project.
