Alex was very helpful, efficient, and pleasant. It's always nice to deal with him. However, he should have put the dusty filter into a bag rather than carrying it around and dropping dust.
There was a problem with scheduling. They used to call up to schedule a tune-up under my maintenance contract, but now it's up to me to ask for it. When I called, I had to wait for two months for the service. Too late to do the AC at the same time, even though it was still on the order.
The markup on their supplies is outrageous, however. $80 for a humidified pad that costs less than $20. The maintenance contract is a good deal, but they rip you off with the extras.
I was very disappointed with the service I received on March 9, 2022. A serviceman came in to look at my furnace that had quit working. I was told it could not be repaired and that I needed a new furnace. The cost would be $5094.00. I was charged $109.89 for this diagnosis. I then decided I would take it apart myself. I was able to get it working despite not being a ticketed furnace repairman. I was then issued a reliance monthly e bill for $17.20, this was for a home comfort package that I never purchased.
I paid my monthly Protection and Maintenance program for my furnace and air-conditioner. I called them last May 14, 2021 to schedule my maintenance services for my furnace and air-conditioner. They told me that their Maintenance services were booked up to October 2021 because of the COVID pandemic, so they can only book me only on November 2021. That is a LIE. The truth is because their employees are on strike. Please see the CBC news entitled "Unionized Reliance Home Comfort workers locked out amid contract dispute."
I feel like I avoided a scam, a $10,000 one to be exact.
I called for "Reliance Gregg's Home Services" to fix my furnace system as it was not heating my recently purchased townhouse. The Employee was at my home for 1.5 hours. After he was finished the issue was still not resolved.
The next day a sales rep from the company was at my door explaining to me that my boiler system that heats my house needed to be replaced.
Feeling uneasy about dropping close to 10k on a new boiler system, I called for a second opinion with a different company. Within a couple of minutes my problem was diagnosed and the heat was up and running. Turns out the thermostat that controls the boiler is in the utility room and it was turned off.
I don't know how you can troubleshoot issues with a system without turning it on. I will not be using reliance again, nor would I recommend the company to anybody.
Seth B did a great job installing the sub-panel. He was very helpful in answering all questions we had. He explained everything he had to do & did his work in a timely manner. He was efficient, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable & thorough in his work. We will certainly recommend him as an electrician.
