This team was not qualified for what they promised they could achieve! Their painting skills were not anywhere near professional. They were messy and therefore left our home worse than it was when they started! They did not listen to our instructions or be considerate of our needs. It took me a full week to get them to cover my wood floors when their contract clearly stated as the top items listed - "property to be protected". The project was to take 3 weeks but all they did for those 3 weeks was plaster our home from top to bottom. (keep in mind there were 3-5 workers here daily) When I pleaded with them to stop plastering they finally started painting which was a disaster! They did not sand any of the plaster and now our walls are worse than before! They left paint residue everywhere and I am still cleaning it up. They lied every time we found something broken or missing. Oddly enough they were very nice young gentlemen and pleasant to speak to but not qualified in this type of work.
Please people, don't be like we were, take a good look at what/who you are hiring.
This is the third job RFF has done for us, and as always, a joy. In this case, Ben worked on the job by himself except for Dylan installing the electrics. We have an 8x8 vestibule which opened to the right (as you came in) into the living room. We wanted it changed to open straight ahead into the drawing room, with a pocket door. We also were removing our old wood-burning fireplace and replacing it with an electric insert.
Problems included discovering that the wall for the proposed pocket door was made with 2x3 rather than 2x4 (70-year-old house) so a pocket door would not fit, and getting power to the old brick fireplace from the breaker panel. Ben found and implemented ingenious solutions to both problems - the result is more than we could have hoped. Beautiful work and a pleasure - rare experience with renovation contractors.
We had a great renovation experience with Renovation Final Finish. From the onset, I noticed that Ben was extremely attentive to details, uploading pictures to his project cloud and inscribing notes to capture the specific changes we wanted to the pre-existing unit. He remained reachable from the start the project at the time of the estimate, prior to any payment taking place, until the end of the 3.5 month renovation. He even reached out to me afterwards to ensure all was to our liking once we had a few weeks to live in our new place. He honoured the prices on the original contract and added projects on our part were charged at the same fair hourly rates. Our main team consisted of his fantastic business partner, John, and their skilled workers, Dave, and Ryan. They did a fantastic job renovating our condo on time. The condo association welcomed their team, as they respected condo rules, kept common areas clean, and did not damage the common areas throughout their project. They carefully protected our unit during the work, including being careful about work done by other turn-key contractors. We took this for granted, for instance, they did not leave a single dent in our new walnut staircase over a 3 month project, but in contrast Closets by Design (NOT affiliated with Renovation Final Finish), whom we hired independently for walk-in closet shelving managed to scratch our brand-new stairs within 2 days of work, despite us having a functional elevator just down the hall which could have been used to move large pieces like Final Finish did. They were timely and sometimes ahead of projected schedules, where I would become the rate limiting step to the project as some of my 3rd party suppliers did not deliver on time while Final Finish was ready. We felt comfortable leaving our keys and leaving the premises, even briefly leaving the country during the renovations knowing that John was trustworthy and skilled at overseeing our project. Ben and John would often text or provide pictures or video messages of areas where they wanted our opinion to know what was most to our liking for the renovations. They were open to project revisions as we made slight changes to the initial plan. They also noticed where other contractors we hired had violated the building code and alerted us to the issues, sending us pictures of the standard and what was done, such that we had the other original contractors return to correct their work according to the building code. Final Finish’s subcontractors (electricians and plumbers) were pleasant and respectful, and Final Finish ensured their work was to our satisfaction. We had an issue with an under-mount sink that cracked the day following one of their subcontractor's installation, and Final Finish promptly ensured the plumber returned and fixed the sink free of charge without damaging the marble counter-top the original sink was mounted to. They did a meticulous job with final touches such as baseboards and painting. Though they do not provide formal cleaning services for residential projects, they were kind enough to organize for a house cleaner to come clean of the site for an additional fee (of note we did not include cleaning in the original contract but requested it because the coronavirus pandemic bumped our timeline and forced us to move in sooner than anticipated). However, they did ensure the common areas and hallways were clean and we never received complaints regarding this. I would be glad to hire them for any foreseeable modifications to our unit or to renovate a future purchase if the opportunity arises.
We hired Renovation Final Finish to completely redo our master bathroom. From the moment we met Ben, we knew he was the one for the job. We already had a good idea of what we wanted and it was clear that Ben understood our requirements right from the beginning. He went on to make several suggestions which would ultimately improve the overall look and functionality of the bathroom. We decided to go for it and the result is spectacular. We are so very pleased with the way the project turned out.
As good as Ben is, he can't do it all alone. What makes this company even better is the team he works with. Our experience with John and the rest of the crew was fantastic. Not only were they on time each and every day, they worked well and hard all day and were always pleasant and polite. I consider myself to be a fairly demanding person and had occasion to make changes along the way (change the tiles I had selected after they had started to install them, changed the paint color once the room was painted, etc.). Not once did they get annoyed. They were understanding, patient and respected my decisions without question and proceeded to make the required adjustments.
Hard work and good personalities are one thing but quality is most important. On that note, the work performed by each member of the crew was meticulous and done to the highest standards. The bathroom is just beautiful. The project went extremely well from start to finish...plumbers, electricians, etc. The project planning was exceptional. The project was started and finished on time.
We are really so pleased with the final result and would certainly hire Ben and his team for any projects we may have in the future.
Worked with Benjamin who brought in his team (John ++).
Was on time, on budget, kept the house really clean (the work was done in one bedroom while we lived in the house). Excellent attitudes and disposition.
Overall great recommendation by designer Andrea Greenberg. Strong recommendation.
We bought a house and our contractor canceled on us. So we were looking for a contractor last minute for June 2019. We wanted everything done before moving in.
Luckily, we found RenovationFinalFinish! They managed to squeeze us in their busy schedule to help us out.
The entire team is professionnal, ponctual, reliable, pleasant to work with, and most importantly thorough and detail oriented.
They always took the time to consult us for any decision and to explain the constructions dilemmas and options through out every step.
Their price is very fair, especially for the good quality of their job. We definitely recommend them!

Renovation Final Finish are amongst the best contractors in the business.
They are smart and inventive: they are true problem solvers. They are also dependable, trustworthy and have great attention to detail. Very few contractors would have done so much to keep the dust out during construction, constantly keeping us informed of the work that was being done in our absence, all the while putting a blanket over our dog to make sure he wasn’t cold.
We are also grateful that they were able to keep up with time constraints, the many surprises my old condo reserved for them, as well as our many demands.
We are repeat clients of Renovation Final Finish as we were so happy with our previous experience (see review from 2013). We had a major project from March to October 2018 and again we were delighted with not just the end result, but the whole process of working with Ben and his team. Many other reviews have already listed their qualities and the level of work you can expect, so here are a few comments on what makes this firm stand out:
• They embrace the quirks and challenges of a home, and have passion to find creative solutions and design ideas. Our home dates from 1895 and is very crooked with many curved walls and odd spaces. Rather than seeing this as a negative and trying to disguise it, Ben found ways to highlight the unique qualities of our space, all the while being meticulous in creating straight lines for the tiling and kitchen installation.
• They really care about the quality of work and materials – you can trust them to treat your home as if it were their own. They will not cut corners or deliver something sub-par just because it’s not visible/noticeable.
• They work in partnership with you, providing guidance and expertise to ensure you are making informed choices. They are very honest and clear about costs, and manage expectations as to what you can get for your budget. They explain the difference between options, helping to weigh up whether it is worth spending more on certain aspects of the project.
• They are safety-conscious, ensuring all precautions are taken on site for personal safety as well as using the correct professional materials for each job, such as non-flammable insulation products.
• Maybe most important of all - extremely pleasant working style. I work from home so was on-site for much of the project. Ben and his team have a calm and respectful manner, both with clients and among themselves. Of course there is always noise and mess during renovations, but these guys are very aware of this and work to minimise disruption. They are genuinely nice guys to have in your home ??
We hired Renovation Final Finish to build our wall unit with fireplace. We were impressed from our first meeting with Ben and knew we were in good hands.
The entire team was always professional, respectful and punctual from the beginning right to the “final finish”. They always kept the line of communication open and always kept things as clean as possible which we appreciated!
We highly recommend Ben, Johnny and crew and will be sure to hire them for many more projects to come.
Thanks guys for a awesome wall unit!
