I decided after many years of sleeping downstairs in my basement to have “safe egress” windows installed in both bedrooms.

I had no idea where to start looking for a contractor so I posted my query on Facebook using a site looking for renovation help.

Pavlo responded to my query quickly. I took photos of the exterior and interior of my 2 bedrooms for his perusal.

He was able to supply the necessary 2 windows that meet safety code for Alberta.

5 weeks after our initial contact he arrived at my residence with a concrete cutting sub contractor to enlarge the openings.

The work was done in one day. The openings were enlarged, the windows were installed, and simple style frames were put around my windows.

Called Pavlo about needing some work done on my cabinetry and some new lighting. I was amazed that he took time before his morning appt to come by - same day - and get started immediately! He returned later the same day and completed all the light installations as well. NEVER has any handyman I've hired in the past (and there have been a few!) provided the prompt, professional and courteous service as Pavlo did! I'll definitely be calling him again when I need additional help with my home.

After having a bad experience with one bathroom reno company, I followed my friend's advice and contacted Renovation on Time. I spoke with the owner, sent him photos of the job site. I was delighted with the design that the owner came up with and the quality of the materials. The owner was extremely professional throughout the whole process. I had a new showerhead, faucet, and handle installed in my bathroom last fall. The plumbers knocked a hole in my wall in order to install the new handle, but did not fix the hole. Pavlo was able to fix the hole and retile the area. He did this in a very timely and efficient manner and was very professional. I am happy with the end result.

Pavlo has made several repairs to our home over the past months, including fixing grout issues in our bathroom and repairing a room in our basement (carpet stretching, mudding, sanding, painting the wall, repairing baseboards).

Previous plumber had installed the toilet connection too high to accommodate the toilet after the tile floor was installed Pavlo cut this down and installed the toilet. He also installed the tiles on the walls of the shower and the bathroom floor in one day.

Excellent work and recommend him to anyone who is looking at a bathroom renovation.

I was recommended Pavlo by the Tile Shoppe as one of the best Tiller's and they were right! Talk about precise, just what I was looking for as he set up his Laser and installed the Porcelanosa-Sea Silver tile! These were a special order from Spain and I only had 18, Pavlo did an amazing job as he installed them all without any breakage, very impressive !

This was poorly done work and not a professional result! Pavlo Polenchuk of Affordable Bathroom Solutions (aka Renovation On Time Ltd) tiled the tub/shower surround and floor in our main bathroom. He left the place in a sloppy mess. The pictures we have posted with this review really speak for themselves as to the poor quality of his work.

Picture #1 shows the tiles at the ceiling where he didn’t cut them to fit properly or align with the adjoining wall, and then just left us to fill in the gap with caulking or something.

Picture #2 shows just one example where he smeared grout all over our bathroom cabinets, walls, etc. and then left it to us to clean it off. We’ll have to be careful not to damage the finished wood and walls underneath the grout as we scrape off the grout that he smeared all over.

Picture #3 shows the tile at the entrance to our bathroom. He chipped it while cutting it or installing it and went ahead and put it in anyway. Usually a homeowner is horrified when they accidentally damage their new tile floor but we don’t have to worry about that because Pavlo already damaged it while installing.

Picture #4 shows that Pavlo cut tiles up to use as the baseboards but didn’t use the factory edge for the top so some of the tiles are showing an unfinished, wavy edge on top of the tile. He was told specifically to use factory edges for the finished edges that would show, but chose to ignore this advice.

Picture #5 shows that some of the baseboard tiles are at least ¼ inch away from the wall and how sloppy the grouting job was that he did.

Picture #6 shows how he cut the tiles around the toilet flange incorrectly and then installed them anyway and actually covered part of the toilet flange. This tile has to be ground out so that the toilet can be installed properly.

Picture #7 and #8 show the grouting done at the edge of the tile that runs from floor to ceiling on the wall. It is sloppy and haphazard. It will have to be taken out and redone.

Picture #9 shows where the tub/shower surround tiles meet in the corner. You can see the grout lines are different thicknesses from the bottom tile to the next because the tiles were cut to inconsistent sizes and do not match.

Picture #10 shows that he made a mistake in overlapping the tiles – he put the baseboard tile on first and the cabinet toekick doesn’t go all the way to the wall. Rather than doing it properly or cutting the toekick tile to go around the baseboard tile, he just left a gap.

Picture #11 shows that he brought the side toekick all the way to the front rather than covering the end of the side tile with the front tile.

In addition to the above, many of the tiles are not level with each other, we will have to re-grout because most of the grout lines were not filled properly and the grout is different shades because he mixed it at different times using differing amounts of water (we think).

As part of the scope of work he was to waterproof the shower walls. He painted on a very thin coat (you could see through it) of something brown and didn’t completely cover the walls so it’s not waterproof.

Pavlo chose to use our attached garage as his workshop. He cut and ground tiles in there which left a heavy layer of tile dust on everything in the garage including my vehicle – couldn’t even see through the vehicle windows. He also left quite a mess in the bathroom and hallway.

Pavlo worked for a reasonable price, got the job done in a hurry and showed up when he said he would. However, as the sayings go “you get what you pay for” and “haste makes waste”. Overall the quality of this work is below average for a Do-It-Yourselfer let alone a so-called professional. When told what he needed to do to correct some of the problems he had created (some of them are not correctable) he chose to ignore us. Although the only way to fix this is a total tear-out, we will spend several hours trying to remediate the mess he left and obviously will not hire him again.

Pavlo did an excellent job in our bedroom renovation. He replaced the rug with laminate flooring, installed a new IKEA closet, built and hung a series of shelves on the wall, installed a giant floor to ceiling mirror and painted the bedroom new, bright colors. This job was done quickly, and the quality excellent and the price was reasonable all while keeping the jobsite neat and tidy. We are very pleased with his work and will definitely hire him again in the future!

Affordable bathrooms provided a fair competitive written quote of my bathroom renovation. Pavlo provided good advice on options. His work was on time and on budget, and he did superb workmanship. I would recommend him again.

I recently had Pavlo/Affordable Bathroom Solutions come to my condo to complete some renovation projects for me. Pavlo installed a brand new ceiling and fan in the bathroom, repaired the bathroom entrance door, painted some areas in the bathroom and the door, and repaired the light swtiches in the bathroom. Provided advice as to fix the issues that I have in the kitchen. Pavlo did an extremely good job, was responsive, courteous, maintained all working areas clean, and was very reasonable with his quote and the final bill.

We hired Paul from Affordable Bathroom Renovations to renovate our downstairs bathroom. He removed and installed a new shower stall with tile walls and glass doors, replace the sink and toilet and also replaced the flooring with heated flooring and new tile. Paul did an excellent job from start to finish. Price was what he quoted, on time, cleaned up after end of each day. He is very polite and friendly. We would highly recommend Affordable Bathroom Renovations to our family and friends.
