I asked Robert to help me build a project plan for a deck, insulation and siding job. Robert helped me to scope the project, build the plan and select the contractor, saving me significant time and money in the process. Contracting work is not easy - five contractors will give you five quotes, five timelines and five prices. Selecting the wrong contractor can be disastrous. I would strongly recommend hiring Robert for any significant project - he'll help you get the job done properly, on time and on budget.
Robert advised me on the replacement of the roof on my 5-plex. He laid out the options, made recommendations and sourced and supervised the project. Having received another quote from a reputable montreal roofer, I know that Robert's efforts saved us about $6,000. He was also able to advise us on repairs to our 80 year-old skylights as well, saving us over $1,500, or over 50% off the cost to replace them.
I can't even begin to calculate the savings-value of my time and stress over this big project. We will definitely be contacting him when it comes time to deal with the basement (!). We feel very lucky to have found Robert.
This summer, we had a small project of demolishing a very old shed and building a new one. It may be a petty job for contractors, but we, who are not handy at all, had no idea of where to start, who we should talk to. Luckily, we found Robert from the Canadian Handyman site. As soon as we called, he came to see us and gave us advises to all of our questions, without pushing his business agenda He first explained the entire steps of the project, and at each step where we can cut the cost, where we should not, and what are alternatives. He is very knowledgeable and has so many great ideas. When we agreed the plan, he managed the entire project. What we got finally is a very nice shed with a very modest cost. Robert is such a rare contractor to whom we can consult and asking for advices, without any surprise of a big invoice. It is like talking to an old friend. We have been renovating our house for some years and hired several people for various kinds of jobs. Robert is the best.
Robert Graul at Canadian Handyman was great! He was very positive, encouraging and resourceful. He "got" the issue quickly after a brief discussion and clearly presented me with my options and understood immediately what my budget constraints were and why.
He followed up as he promised he would and found and provided me with, what so far appears to be, the most reasonable, cost-effective and appropriate solution to my foundation problem. He was a pleasure to work with, I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone!
