We hired Rollin'It! because they could do the job in a hurray. It was a rental property so we were between renters. Usually do the work ourselves and have been doing it for 25 years. The price for the 1/2 duplex was good. I believe that it was in line with what others are charging. But the work was not what we expected. They never taped a baseboard. We had to tell them to go over some spots. There are places that were not sanded and you can tell. There were places on the ceiling that were missed, they did go back and touch those up after we mentioned it to them. It was almost like they just did the work and then sat back to see what we would catch and what was missed. They broke a light fixture and did not say anything about it. I know things happen and it wasn't expensive but once again they did not say anything. We were told that they would at least clean the baseboards off that was not done. Paint was left on the carpet that does not come out.
We were looking for a painter that would do other work for us, Rollin'It will not be the painters. Too bad.
I must say she was very polite, but I did get the feeling that it was all lip service.
Wow, you sure know how to get my attention! I would like to go over a few key points before I start my apology.
First of all I am wondering where this is all coming from.. I was completely under the impression that our business relationship was fine. You had a huge smile on your face when handing over the cheque, as did I. Me and jay booked you in because you needed the duplex done in a rush. We were working a double shift till past midnight in order to achieve this goal. Sometimes people do not realize that painting IS time consuming and hard work. You told me you had future work and that made me so happy! Then you post a horrific comment on my handyman connection page? As a business owners wife I am sure you know how terribly this can affect my new and growing business. Non the less, you didn't just make all this stuff up! I am in total agreance that i am very green to this business thing. I should have been much more prompt to send you my invoice, and I apologize for that. I guess in this fast paced world, and working 12, 14 hour days I prioritize poorly. As for the paint on the baseboards, are you sure it is not dust? The thing that sucks about re-paints is that we get blamed for past painters mistakes. If you look closely, the colors are likely to be from a previous paint job. Please note: The paint job is only as good as the canvas given. Also, touch ups are a part of painting. We always know that there will be things missed. That is why we do a walk around at the end of every job. We are human in fact ;)
I am actually quite offended that you consider my personality to be "lip service". I was raised well and taught to treat people with respect and manners (I wasnt raised in the city haha!). I showed Jay your comments and he confessed to breaking your light. I had no idea and have deducted an amount form his earnings to pay for it. It is unacceptable to destroy any part of your property and not inform you of our mistake.
I think that there is a huge misunderstanding due to my absentmindedness. Attached is my invoice. I hope we can start over because my "lip service" was not at all that. We did enjoy working for you! You were pleasant, prompt and realistic.. There is lots we can learn from you!
