Do not hire this company. He makes promises he does not keep and does not finish jobs. Tried numerous occasions to make contract right but still no satisfaction. Horrible company or should I say person. Takes advantage of people.
Hired Saul to relevel our Patio. He showed up on the 1st day at the right time, looked at the work to be done and said it should be an one day job. I came out later multiple times to check on the work to find him proceeding to sit around for most of the day telling me, "I am waiting on my crew to arrive." He also wandered off for a good portion of the day.
I didn't think much of it but no one else ever showed up, and he promised that the patio would be done by the EOD the following day. He was a solo worker for the whole project. He tried to tell me that he lost all his employees’ contacts.
Once again, the 2nd day, he showed up and sat around for most of the day and then near end of day he rushed putting the blocks back ....in the opposite direction. I pointed this out to him, and he started to argue with me that I was wrong (we have pictures to prove it was the other way). He did order half a yard of sand, though tried to tell me it was a yard.
I accepted that he was not going to relay the patio stones in the original direction, but that caused new issues in the fact that roughly 30 bricks needed to be cut to be put in place properly. He also laid down the bricks into two different patterns as he was trying to rush through the job.
He told me he would be back to fix the issues, he did not show up the next day (we had extra bricks delivered early in the morning on Day 3) and he arrived on the 4th day of what was originally supposed to be a 1 day, maybe 2-day job - max (as per Saul).
On the 4th day, he once again sat around...told me he needed to rent a saw to cut the blocks. He kept mentioning a crew every day - it is obvious that he is a one-man crew, there was never another person around other than the person who dropped off sand. Nothing was changed/moved at all on the 4th day, as he sat around again for another hour or two before taking off without telling us. To us, it looked like he was not going to finish it, so we had to take it on ourselves. This was probably about 40% of the work that needed to be done.
I don't think he understood what was needed to be done to fix the errors that he made, furthermore any time I pointed out something was off, he got confrontational. He told me I was busting his balls when I said that the patterns needed to match as it was one consistent pattern prior to that. Any time someone asks him a question, he simply replies that he knows more than us as he has been doing this for 20+ years.
In the end, my wife and I completed the rest of the work including cutting the 30 bricks and relaying a large portion of what was done as we had to correct the dual patterns and make them one cohesive pattern.
Saul arrived back here the next week to pick-up his stuff with another person who drove him. He tried to demand the rest of the payment for essentially the work we completed. He also tried to give a ridiculous statement that it was 10 minutes of work. It took my wife and myself a few hours to do it together and properly.
He received multiple payments from us throughout the time he was here, including a "deposit" that was sent to him prior to him even arriving on the first day.
He completed maybe 60-70% of the job and we completed the rest. He was paid for that portion of work he completed.
We were quoted $1250 for this relaying, and only a part of that because he didn't complete the work. This was fair because he only finished 70% of the work.
My daughter’s bf got a few quotes to fix her crumbling front steps Saul’s quote was in the middle so he was chosen we first gave him $100 deposit because he had no supplies then it took a few days to do the stairs midway he needed half the money left owing because he had to pay his partner since he had no money to pay him when he said he was done I wasn’t home but when my daughter looked at the top of the stairs it looked good so she paid him when I got home and we really looked oh my goodness horrible job! He “fixed” them with the wrong material it’s not smooth it’s still crumbling and he left two big pieces of wood hammered to the side of the step apparently he had told my daughter he was coming back to fix the side for more money the next day but then I text him and said the stairs looked awful and he never text back but the next day he text and said he can’t come because his car wouldn’t start (the same car that he came with that has no plates on it) and we haven’t heard from his since he is a rip off artist awful awful awful pics are honestly how he left our steps!! See you in small claims court Saul!
This is a review further to my last one a year ago which is still posted. Saul responded trying to say it was a small job and we only paid him $300 that is a blatant lie! We paid him $700 and he left the steps a mess which I shared the pics of. $700 Saul not $300 you liar!! Do not hire this guy do your homework read the reviews don’t hire Saul! 0 out of 5 crook!
This was a small patch job. The total cost of this job was 300$ dollars... what did you expect to happen? I charged you 300$ total for this job and you feel you got ripped off? Being November and winter fast approaching the crumbling steps needed to be fixed for winter to avoid injury. I m very sorry you feel that way... please call me I would like to make it right.
Saul
Hired Saul to do snow removal for January. Shoved twice but only after I called and asked when to expect the snow to be cleared. After that that he did not return. Texted Saul, left voicemails but no response. Finally I did get a hold of him on the phone but he said he could not talk and his cell battery was almost dead. Assured me he would call right back. Never heard from him again. Was very anxious to get paid but never had a contract with him the two times I saw him. Would never hire him again or recommend him. Charged $100 for the month, I paid after the second snow removal and never saw him again.
*Update April 3, 2017: Saul did contact me after my initial review on this website. We made arrangements a few weeks ago for him to get the refund to me, however he never arrived after I repeatedly provided my address (and him having done snow removal at same address). I tried to contact him again, but now his phone number is not valid.
Original review: Saul was hired to do snow removal for January. We did get a lot of snowfall at that time, and I stayed in contact with him to confirm when he would be arriving to clear the driveway. However he still arrived a full 24 hours after he said he would be there making it 3 days after a snow fall. This occurred each time.
After discussing with him after a few weeks that the service wasn't quite what we were looking for, we agreed upon a partial refund. After weeks of trying to get my money back he disappeared. I would never hire him again, and would not recommend him.
Hi Kristen,
I am very sorry that you feel I have betrayed you. We did not anticipate the amount of snow we received this year. I believe we had record snow falls. You paid a grand total of 90$ for snow coverages and you were dissatisfied with the service please except my apologies, however; I did agree to make it right and you suggested a 40$ refund was fair and I agreed. Can you please text/call/email me and so I can arrange 40$ pmt.
Please except my apologies for not contacting you sooner, had no way of reaching you as I no longer have your phone number or address.
