Seven Pillars just completed a bathroom reno for us and we couldn't be more happy with the results. There was regular communication, the staff were friendly and hard working and the end result is very professional. We would definitely use them again!
Eric and his team were instrumental in transforming our old kitchen to the place of our dreams where we love hanging out and entertaining. From initial discussions to the final touches, Eric and his team ensured that the highest of quality was brought to each stage.
Despite minor hangups, Eric ensured that we problem solved through and enabled a workable solution. The sub-contractors that Eric employs are top notch and deliver an equally high product.
We are very happy with our kitchen. Thanks Seven Pillars!
Seven Pillars completed a large Reno that encompassed the majority of our main floor. Our home was built in '76 and had the typical layout; small kitchen, separate dining room and sectioned off living room. We wanted a modern open concept, and we love the final product! Walls were removed, plumbing, heat and electrical rerouted and a huge beam was installed.
After meeting with several contractors, we chose Seven Pillars for two primary reasons 1) they had an excellent reputation and 2) Eric seemed honest. Although they were not the cheapest quote, given this was our first renovation, it was important that we could trust whoever we chose. We were extremely happy with our final decision.
In regard to trust, we never once worried about the contractors Eric had through our house. They were all respectful, responsible and extremely thoughtful; inclusive of electricians, plumbers, cabinet installers and general tradesmen.
In addition to being trustworthy, the quality of work that each trade did was excellent. They were committed to doing each task to a high level, and were all open to giving their opinions if they thought we could make an alteration that would better the final product. Eric also held all of the contractors to an extremely high standard; he had the countertop installers come back to re-level, he made sure the flooring guys didn't get sawdust in our bushes, he ensured Kitchen Craft was held accountable for their mistakes, they helped with the sizing of our appliances, and the list goes on.
Eric, Scott and Brad were also great when it came to dealing with all of the small things that were unexpected. For example, they helped us with some water damage, plumbing issues, a hole created by furnace cleaners, etc.). They didn't charge for every little thing they consulted on or helped with. We were really worried going into the project that we would be nickel and dimed and we are relieved to say that was not the case at all. They charged for what was fair and did some small things along the way pro-bono.
With a project of this size and the fact that I am quite particular, it was inevitable that there were a few areas that weren't perfect. There were a few instances when the online calendar wasn't updated as often as we would have liked or things ran a little behind schedule (mainly due to Kitchen Craft). Additionally, it would be nice for them to have a very reliable interior designer to help with consultations. However, this is something I believe they are working on.
Although the vast majority of their tradesmen were excellent (K&J Granite & VA Electric are fantastic!), there were two suppliers that we struggled with. One was Kitchen Craft and the other was Trademark flooring. Kitchen Craft was very difficult to deal with and made several mistakes, Trademark stood us up twice for scheduled appointments (although had great products and very good rates). In both instances, Eric followed up with them and went to bat for us; however, they were two challenges that we did have.
Overall, we were extremely impressed with Seven Pillars and absolutely love our new space. Eric, Brad and the rest of their crew were all pleasure to work with and did excellent work.
As our home reno was wrapping up, I took on a medium sized reno at my workplace. I didn't think twice about hiring Seven Pillars for the project, we didn't even get a second quote. If we do any further home renovations, we wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.
If you are on the fence about who to hire, I encourage you to look beyond the bottom line. Eric and his crew were only slightly more expensive than the lowest quote we received and without a doubt, it was worth the investment.
Eric has done 3 renovations for us and I would not consider using any other contractor for the renovations. He is personable, conscientious and understands how a project should be undertaken. Any problems we encountered during the renovation were dealt with efficiently. We would recommend Eric for any renovation.
This is the second time we've had Eric and his team do work for us and we are even more pleased with the outcome then the first time.... And we didn't think that was possible. They walked us through every step of the way and really kept the work area as livable as possible for us and answered my endless questions without hesitation. We highly recommend getting Seven Pillars to do your next renovation project... It's a decision you'll not regret.
Seven Pillars transformed my new, underdeveloped basement into a livable space for my family to enjoy. Eric and team were awesome from the get-go, professional and knowledgeable all the way through. They worked within my budget and even went the extra mile with touch-ups that were not included in the original scope of work. I am glad I went with Seven Pillars over the other contractors and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to spruce up their homes - at a reasonable rate!
I found Seven Pillars here on Trusted Pros and I'm very happy that I did. Eric, Brad and their crews were excellent. My new bathroom is my favourite room now! The work was not only done well, but all of the people who came into our house to do the work were personable and friendly. No one minded answering my various questions and they explained the whys and hows very well. Any issues we had with the work were dealt with immediately, to our satisfaction. We came in on budget and in a timely manner. We would not hesitate to call them in again. I love my new main floor!
Thanks Seven Pillars!!
We were pleased with the process and final product we received from Seven Pillars. Eric was communicative and invested in the project. Our kitchen and bathroom are beautiful. We look forward to working with Eric and Seven Pillars in our next large renovation in the basement.
We originally hired Seven Pillar for a basement development. The development hit a few snags as mold was discovered and air infiltration had damaged the existing fibre glass installation. Scott, the site manager, gave several suggestions for mold remediation and spray foam and selected the sub-contractors for the work. The extra cost was more than reasonable and the sub-contractors brought in did a skilled and efficient job. We're glad we went with the spray foam, we were hesitate at first, but the basement has never been warmer and heat loss to the outside has been greatly reduced.
Like all projects, as you progress you realize there are a few things you hadn't thought of before or decide to add on, to add value and greater use to your finish project. Seven Pillars never had an issue with the requests for these additional tasks and were very helpful in their suggestions and accommodating on how these could be completed.
The sub-contractors, they hired, for plumbing, flooring and electrical were on time, professional, clean, friendly and very skilled.
We were very pleased with Seven Pillars own staff, their professionalism, skill and friendliness.
We love the work done on our home. We would highly recommend them to anyone and would gladly hire them again.
The level of professionalism and the quality of the work was exceptional! Seven Pillars was very easy to work with and finished the renovation in a timely manor with little to no setbacks or delays. All in all, working with Seven Pilalrs was extremely easy and I highly recommend them for the level and quality of their service.
