Avoid this "company" like the plague. We hired Sebastian Ianas (who can also be found online with aliases including Mike Manning and Sebastian Manning as well as being the head contact for "Smart Renos" and "Wesmar Contracting"). Despite promising to finish renovating our basement plus some work on the main floor by end of June he never met the deadline. Very courteous, always seemed on the ball and going the extra yard in the basement (which the tradesmen did a good job with, BTW) but he took our money and ran, leaving our house in a mess. We paid for bathrooms to be completed as well as closets to be fitted out, a kitchen island (never delivered), kitchen drawers installed with sliders - the list goes on. When he discovered a leak in our roof (we had recently purchased the property) he quoted $4000 to replace the shingles and we agreed. He said the roof was in very poor condition and went ahead and finished without quoting or formally invoicing for more money and why would he anyway? $4,000 was the quote. We paid everything up front and after finishing the roof he abandoned the inside of the house, left everything else unfinished. He went out of contact and it was only when another client of his contacted me because they were having major problems with him that he resurfaced to abuse me for talking to one of his clients and to request $3500 to finish what we had already paid for. He had the gall to ask for $3000 up front and assured he would finish by a certain date (he is a liar and he never finished anything when he said he would) and said that would only leave me $500 to pay at the end of the job. He even asked why I did not trust him. Too funny. I told him to finish first but of course he would not. He then threatened me with a lien on my house - for WHAT? His partner, Rob Martell of P and R Contracting also threatenend us with the police and legal action if we let anyone onto the "companies site" (his misspelled wording) - our own house in other words! This was after I had sent a text to Sebastian asking for the materials we had paid him for and were never delivered so that we could organise our own labour. This guy is very smooth, comes across as the genuine article so be careful. No contracts (stupid me, not that it would have meant anything to him anyway) and he will tell you he has 40 men working for him and how he lives in a million dollar home. I have since learned he has not paid his workers on several sites, has left many sites unfinished and that he is being investigated for fraud.
Wow so these con artists steal as well the have stole our 4 vanity faucets from the garage and a tub faucet from our dining room table. People don't let them in your home they will rob you blind. First want money and money and money after they leave you will come to know things have gone missing. These guys took of made false promises ohhh and tile work they did in one shower was terrible not to mention that it fell off the drywall in the middle of the night imagine waking to that everything they have touched has had to be demolished. Be aware people out there. Looks like they pulled a fast one on charlie too. Well charlie sell his tools and get some of your money back. He left us nothing but a few useless thing a $58 tile cutter that doesn't even cut straight but now they are suspects to the police. I have even reported them to the BBB. This when he decides he wants to talk to us hahahaha, ohh don't let them near electrical I had ESA come to do inspection and they could give him a big big fine for this but Will se if he decides to return money trough BBB make these con artist pay one way or another, if he has touched your electrical be careful call ESA to inspect. So all in all don't let them near your home. They will take your money damage things and make your home a fire hazard not to mention the plumbing it is costing me double to get things properly done. But I have ESA on my side if I don't get my money back trough BBB i will make him pay a nice fat fine and these guys will go after personal property.
These people had the police call me and after talking to them the police closed the case. Even the police thought the customer was full of it.
And really. . Contractors don't need to steal faucets. We get 75 percent off. It costs us almost nothing and we also get promotional products free. So why would we need to steal.morons.
All I have to say bad people deserve bad karma.
Well this is a second review the first one I have taken down to be nice and fair. But they are not they have destroyed my home nothing is done correct. They know how to talk take your money and thats about it. Everything they have put their hands on has to be redone. So new contractor tells me. They decided to get into a type of work they clearly have no knowledge of here and there some things but not a contractor you would want to hire. These guys said the project will be around 2 weeks ok reasonable. But it has been a month and not even close to one washroom being done. The tile work is terrible. All the plumbing they have done must be redone loose drains so we need to take off the sub floor to fix that problem and an extra drain piece is around missing from one of the showers where they put bad tile work into. If you want a good company run as far as you can from these guys . They are con artists will take your money and run.
So as it stands this customer is an elbow biter. Meaning there always on your back. But as this job started I worked for another company and they gave a 3000 dollar deposit. We bought all the material. And we did a lot of work I quit the company and the owners could not complete this job so I offered the customer my services. With a 2000 deposit but the customer said they will buy the material. So every day when we need something we had to wait for her and then go to hone depot and she would pay gee what is that you don't feel going to home depot with the customer and they scrutinize everything that we buy. So we still continue working but the customer always complaining about everything. Even all my workers are frustrated and don't want to be there. So there is a lot more to this story but we never took money and ran I have pics that I'm gonna try to post for you to see that work was Done. But after telling the customer we need actual funding and the denied we can't work like that. I like to buy things from my supplier not home depot and wait till 10 am just for materials. I can give you references from all my customers and you will see how happy they are.
Showed up to work 2 days. Only showed up on time to give a quote. Insisted on 1/3 up front, then 1/3 after the second day and never showed up again. Job was 20% completed. Courteous except for lying to us. I would NEVER trust or recommend Sebastian Ianas.
