i am still waiting on them to finish the job. i have done a lot of the work myself and he bothered me all times of the day for advances and money, such that in the end i overpaid him and he is refusing to pay it back to me. it is a gong show when he works with talk of his girlfriend problems, health issues and how hard it is to get workers. he says he will show up but never does. i only wanted and garage pad and sidewalk done, it is now august and he started in may and it is still not finished. plus i just found out his name is actually mark derzaph, and he does drugs and is an informant. i have also since heard that alot of his customers are dealing with inferior concrete that is crumbling only a few weeks after being poured.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! We got this guy's card from a relative whose work was still in progress, but he ultimately ended up getting jerked around by Stallion Stone as well.
Marco and his partner came to our house promptly when we called for an estimate on a simple 300-sq-ft driveway. He also quoted us on the cost to run a sidewalk from the driveway to the backyard. He requested payment of 50% up front “for materials†then virtually vanished.
On the rare occasion that he has his cell phone turned on, the only way he picks up is if he doesn't recognize your number. We had to call from our offices and other people's cell phones just to get him to answer a call. When we did finally get him on the phone, we got empty promises and sometimes even outright lies. He ultimately stopped taking our calls, turned off his phone and answering machine completely at times, and didn't return messages until we threatened him with legal action.
Meanwhile, his partner actually had the professional decency to come and do the work, but WE HAD TO ORGANIZE EVERYTHING - the bobcat work, hauling a tree and debris to the dump, delivery of the fill and rebar, AND ultimately getting the concrete truck to the house.
Marco left a phone message and showed up at our house the morning after the work was done expecting to be paid the balance of the original quote. NOT TOO LIKELY, BUDDY. Besides the money we gave him up front, WE PAID FOR EVERYTHING - the bobcat, the fill, the trips to the dump, the rebar AND the concrete. And he had the nerve to complain that he didn't make any money on our project. He pocketed 2/3 of the deposit, paid his worker 1/3, and left us holding the bag with all the suppliers, but somehow he didn't make any money. Yeah, cry me a river.
From the day of the quote to the end of the job was 19 long, frustrating days. This was supposed to have been a 3- or 4-day job. I would give his partner a separate rating if I could because he did do a very good job, but all I can say about Marco Ricci and Stallion Stone is GOOD RIDDANCE.
