Hired this company in September 2019

I am still waiting for them to make any effort to complete the renovation or refund the $105,000 paid or to remove the $5,000 lien placed on my home by a contractor they hired. They have not been at my property since February of 2020 although I have contacted them numerous times requesting they return to work. I have requested receipts for items allegedly purchased for my Reno. I have requested the name of their lawyer that supposedly is representing them. As of today I have received nothing from Jacquie or Clayton.

They also dumped 16 huge bags of garbage on my garden which remains in my yard from another job site.

A highly skilled, courteous and ethical company. Did excellent work on a difficult job. Highly recommended. A+!

Steel Dragon provided excellent service and were great to deal with. They stayed within our budget and was on time. Their staff and contractors were friendly and very professional to deal with. The quality of workmanship was excellent.

We contracted Steel Dragon to complete a big home renovation after they did a great job at a great price on our deck.

We were quite nervous about the whole process given that we have never managed a big renovation before and it was a big budget.

They were very patient and clear in the contracting process so that we were comfortable and clear on what the steps were and decisions. Jacquie was incredibly helpful when it came to design ideas, sourcing and being flexible where we wanted to make small adjustments to design elements.

The estimated 3 months to complete the complete kitchen reno, 2 bathrooms, floors throughout and painting. It was done on time and on budget. The result was beyond what we could've hoped. We're thrilled and so so proud of our new home.

Clayton really took the time to make it exactly the way we wanted from the custom shower, to the built in wine-rack and live-edge mantle.

We're thrilled not just at the quality but also the really affordable cost.

Clayton and his journeyman were great. They kept us advised each step of the way. They were on time, on budget and professional. Out of the 5 contractors we met with we felt most comfortable with Steel Dragon because of their knowledge of what all needed to be repaired. They salvaged as much t&g of the 1962 deck that they could which was important not only for cost but to keep the house true to its original design. We will use Steel Dragon for future projects when the time comes to fix the interior.

Started looking for quotes in November 2016 for completion of our basement wet bar.

Wet met Clayton and Jacquie of Steel Dragon ("SD") in December 2016 and had a good feeling off the bat. There quote was the highest of the 3 we sought; however, we had a disappointing experience in the past going for the cheapest and decided to spend extra for a job well done. The reviews on Trusted Pro's helped.

I'm a reasonably understanding person. If something personal occurs that prevents work (and SD provided more than a few) if you communicate to me and explain, I'm generally understanding.

There was no communication. Clayton fell off the grid. I left voice mails, emails, text messages -- nothing. His wife would call me on occasion, but she often promised things that SD never followed through on -- I wanted to talk to Clayton (the contractor) who flat out ignored me for months. As I paid a 40% deposit worth more than $6,000 I was increasingly stressed out about the situation.

Finally, on June 24, 2017 (I wrote the deposit cheque December 23, 2016) Clayton called, apologized, and setup a time on June 26, 2017 and completed the project in 4 days.

Both husband and wife explained (late June) the various personal reasons why they couldn't start earlier and despite my better judgment gave them the benefit of the doubt and believed them and said it was fine and tried to leave things amicably.

I probably wouldn't not be writing this review due to said excuses except for the fact that on final review of the work done, there was a lot of cuts, marks, damage, etc. around one of the light switches. I asked if Clayton could come back and quickly fix (was surprised it left such obvious damage). His solution? "replace with a larger face plate".

Are you kidding? After the huge delays and explaining to me that they take so much pride in their work, his solution to the poor work was a larger face plate (no switch in the entire house had a larger face plate). I had him mud and sand it but ended up doing the fix up paint myself.

This was an incredibly stressful and exhausting experience. I would not use SD again.

Steel Dragon built is a new deck - we love it. It is exactly what we wanted, really reasonably priced and very well built. We were so happy they're now reno'ing our house!!

Working with Steel Dragon construction was a wonderful experience!. Both Clayton and his wife Jacqui were pleasant, friendly and more than willing to work within my budget by creating various options. The work was top notch. Clayton and his crew were fast, clean and most importantly on budget!

I would recommend this company in a heart beat. I can honestly say that this was the best experience with a contractor I have had in my life.

My deck drawings are useless as the firm won't revise changes because I'm not using steel dragon for the deck.

They put my shower in upside down for real.

Other than that they did a fair job. Price stayed on point.

A big thank you to the guys for installing my custom eating bar and custom laundry room storage closet. This project needed specific measurements and creativeness. The fella's were professional and took special care to ensure the eating bar would stand the test of time and ensured I understood what needed to be done. The storage closet also needed specific measurements in order to accommodate the water hook up and electrical had appropriate access should we need it. Also, thank you Jacquie for arranging everything and keeping in touch with me when arranging the measurements and install. I will recommend this company to anyone who needs Reno's done.
