We loved having Steve and his crew here. Steve did two bathrooms ... one on main floor which is totally awesome and one in the basement, a bedroom space and a rec room for us. It was an amazing experience and we feel Steve went way beyond what we expected.

We worked with Steve to replace our 80s bathroom that was beyond repair. He didn’t give us the lowest quote, but his confidence and reviews lead us to choose him. The installation had a few hickups as it was an old house, but he handled them like a champ. Overall it was an amazing experience and we feel the value was way beyond what we paid. As we didn’t live on site, he sent us pictures as the work progressed.

Steve Gauthier of Steve of All Skills and his team recently completed a number of renovation projects in my home. For all, he receives a 5- star rating.

Upstairs involved removal of wallpaper, repair, painting and a very resistant moulding, as well as some tricky fixing of the hardwood flooring that had shifted. Our basement was previously “finished”, but with a drop ceiling and after 22 years of use was a complete redo. Steve and the team did an amazing job with a drywall ceiling with pot-lights, adding 2 closets, building a new electrical closet/switch box with shelves underneath such that it looks like a wardrobe. We chose laminate for the flooring which they installed beautifully.

At each stage from the estimate, through to the final invoice, Steve was open to discussions about material, cost, timing and subcontracting. He never pushed his ideas other than a desire to remain on schedule, in consideration of his next customer. On all projects, he pegged the times exactly, even though I had added a few little jobs on the side. He and his team were extremely polite did their best even in foul weather to be considerate of my home.

We are extremely happy with using the services of SOS and his team and will be doing so again for the foyer in May 2020.

First I dd not hire Steve therefore I am not in a position to review his workmanship. I asked Steve to provide me a quote for bathroom remodel and a basement remodel. He arrived on time and I discussed what I was looking for. He stated quite quickly that he was the best and that he could not start any work before jan 2020, which was okay with me. He told me “his quotes are down to the last nail!”

There is little point going into detail of what I wanted suffice to say he was somewhat perfunctory in his approach. He called me back the following day to say his timetable was now March 2020 and that his price would be $15,000 for the bathroom, despite the fact I had asked him to quote two options and that I would be providing some of the material myself. The basement would a further $12,000. Neither quotes included any electrical work, which based on his knowledge of the Canadian electrical code was probably a good job. His quote was far from detailed and definitely not to “the last nail”

My impression was of someone who was full of his own importance and not really interested. Overall not a good experience.

My husband and I were nervous finding a contractor as we live in a very old home. The bathroom was falling apart and it needed significant renovations, along with major electrical and plumbing work. Steve was fantastic to work with. He made the process worry free and from his first visit made me feel at ease. I thought there was no hope for our tiny bathroom, and he came up with a great floor plan. With only 1 bathroom he understood that completing the job on time was important, and he worked quickly and efficiently. Steve was honest, reliable, easygoing, and a great communicator. His estimate was clear, and he stayed in contact with me throughout the renovation process with suggestions and to ensure he was completing the work exactly how we wanted. He was always a phone call or text away. In all Steve and his team completely gutted our bathroom from floor to ceiling, expanded into an adjacent closet, built a beautiful new bathroom, re-framed and hung a new door, completed additional construction work to account for our old home (dropped the ceiling, built up the studs), and worked with his sub-contractors to take care of all of the plumbing and electrical needs. Steve was very courteous of our home and covered up everything while working. All work completed was timely and beautifully done. The tile work in the shower is incredible and we have gotten so many compliments. We were so happy with his work that we asked him to also add 2 new closets during renovations, which look fantastic! It was refreshing to find someone in construction who is honest, reliable and trustworthy. We would not hesitate to hire Steve again and would recommend him to anyone needing renovations.

Steve and his crew redid a bedroom for us dry walled painted and new sub floor. Did a great job. Always cleaned up after them selves. We are very pleased with his work and would hire him again. Thanks again Steve.

Steve and his crew met all of our expectations with our renovation project. The quality of work, including attention to detail, completing the job in a timely manner on budget, excellent communication throughout the process, friendly, respectful manner of everyone involved in the renovations all were noted and appreciated by my wife and I. We plan on hiring Steve and his crew for future work we would like to have done on our house.
