This is the first home that we built. Steve and his crew from Sunnymede were very helpful from the very beginning to the very end. We appreciated their professionalism, the ability to stick to their schedule and deal with any problems that arose, as well as their input. Steve was open to our suggestions and tried to make them work as best he could. If he knew it wouldn't work, he told us so, which normally turned out to be the best decision. If we were to build again, we would not hesitate to ask Steve and his guys to build our next one too!

In the fall of 2009, we decided our house was ready for some major renovations. The bathrooms needed to be updated and we wanted to increase the size of our master bedroom which included creating more closet space. We also wanted new windows, exterior siding and trim as well as interior ceilings, baseboards and crown molding.

We were looking for a contractor that could handle a large and complex project from beginning to end. Sunnymede came highly recommended, and we had seen several of their homes which were attractively designed and finished. We asked Steve to meet with us to talk about our renovation. On the first meeting, Steve made us feel confident that we were dealing with a skilled and experienced contractor.

From the start of the project, Steve was able to use his knowledge and experience to help us refine our ideas and provide suggestions for the overall design. Sunnymede started on time and coordinated all of the sub contractors, ensuring that each stage was kept on schedule. Plumbing, drywall, tile, and painting were closely monitored and maintained the high standard of quality set by Sunnymede.

Sunnymede Construction recently completed a basement renovation for us which we are thrilled with. Steve and Taylor were incredibly helpful through every stage of the project, from helping us clear the junk out of our basement through selection of interior decor to installation of closet shelving. The subcontractors they brought in were pleasant and helpful. I always knew what stage we were at and what to expect in the next few days and weeks. What I appreciated most about working with Steve was his easygoing demeanour... he encouraged us to take the time to make decisions that were right for us. This renovation could have been very stressful for me but Steve was very clear with me about what decisions needed to be made and when which made it much easier. When I was uncertain about choosing colors, tiles etc, he offered seasoned opinions. Our project came in on time and on budget and we would recommend Sunnymede Construction to anyone without hesitation.

Steve has done a lot of building and renovation work for us as well as for some of our friends and family members. The aspect of his work that everybody finds most impressive is his natural eye for design and ways to optimize the space he is working with. The result is that the work he does results in owners being able to maximize the space they have indoors and outdoors and also live in a home with the most modern, yet tasteful design features.

In one case, he transformed a rather tired house on a large unkempt lot so thoroughly and cost effectively that we bought it ourselves. Shortly after we moved in, he suggested ways that we could further modernize the kitchen and bathrooms without spending a huge amount of money. Once again, we were amazed with the transformation and still live in that house today.

In almost every case, he only contracts minimal architectural design work, preferring to do the bulk of the creative work himself, resulting in each home having a trademark look and feel that is uniquely his.

There are good builders, and there are talented builders, but Steve is both.

Steve & Taylor have recently complete our home addition of 1,000 sq ft and renovaction of existing home making it wheelchair accessible. Bedroom on the main floor has a complete roll in shower for complete wheel cahir access. Job site was always clean at the end of the day. Although renovating it a timely process Steve & Taylor have made to proceed as quickly as possible always thinking a couple of steps ahead keeping the project moving forward. Ask them to show you our before & after photos of our home. It is awesome. I would recomend them anytime .

Two years ago, we decided on a major renovation of our 20 year old house. The renovation included remodelling the whole ground floor - replacing the kitchen, adding new windows and French doors, adding a fireplace, updating a bathroom, laying hardware and tile throughout, and adding a new deck. We hired Steve as the general contractor to lead all aspects of the renovation.

Steve was very professional and helpful throughout the whole process. He not only performed the work, but was instrumental in helping us decide what to do and how to proceed. From day one when we first discussed the reno, Steve walked us around the house and provided new and interesting ideas on how to effectively update our home (ideas we would not have thought of, but which turned out fantastic). He provided up front pricing and schedule information, and then worked together with us throughout the reno to it's successful completion. His communication was excellent, and he kept us informed of progress all along the way.

Steve has a great team of contractors he works with to effectively complete all tasks (tilers, plumbers, electricians). All are dependable and did great work. His tile guy in particular was very creative, and added a number of unique touches to our new fireplace.

We originally chose to work with Steve because we had seen some of his previous projects and really liked his style. We particularly liked the finishing touches he gives to his projects (such as distinctive molding). Steve's team certainly delivered for us. We've been very happy with our renovation.

We have used Sunnymede on more than one occasion and really have no complaints. The first project was a new construction 3 storey home. Having never done this before, it was a great relief to have the help of such a professional! Steve helped us every step of the way and made the process as seamless as possible. Unlike many contractors, he shows up when he says he will, and gets the job done in a timely manner. The second project was a 1200 sq ft main floor renovation on a 21 year old home, including a kitchen reno that we love and that gets rave reviews from all who see it!
