I purchased from Sunrise window 6 years ago all doors and windows for my mother in law’s house. This year one of the opening section of a large window broke and I asked Sunrise to help us to repair. They were not interested in helping because we could not find the original order. I replaced the window with Home Depot. I will never again do business with those people.
We bought a front door from these guys, PLEASE READ other reviews and decide for yourself
This is an example of how anyone can write a review against a company whether or not the issue pertains to the company or not. This customer is looking for someone to put blame on instead of the person who is responsible. Please Note the first sentence "We bought a front door from Sunrise"
Door was not installed correctly by customers "framer".
Customer called Sunrise to go out and inspect and adjust their door as after the "poor" installation by their "framer" as the door was not operating properly. After several adjustments, Sunrise made the door operable for the client however noticed through the inspection that the door was never sealed properly on the bottom by the "framer" and Sunrise service representative noted this to the client as well as wrote it on the sign off paperwork to the client as so they could take care of it.
A year has gone by and the client obviously never had the "framer" correct the issue as the door is leaking from the installation at the bottom just as Sunrise predicted would happen.
This has nothing to do with Sunrise and unfortunately we are too busy and do not have the time to go around fixing bad contractors or "framers" mistakes. This client needs to hold the proper people accountable and not write poor reviews about the good ones who are not responsible.
Summer, 2009, hired Sunrise Windows & Doors of Edmonton, Alberta, to replace 8 windows with triple glazed, Energy Star certified windows, for my mother's home ( she is a senior on fixed income). We told the salesman specifically that we wanted Energy Star certified windows and we would complete an energy audit prior to installation. Salesman confirmed that the windows were ES certified and provided brochures of the glass supplier with ES logo and certification information. After installation we discovered through Natural Resources Canada that Sunrise windows are not ES certified. NRCan requested certification documents from Sunrise as did Service Alberta (consumer complaint investigation) and Sunrise could not comply. Sunrise stated that they had previouslu purchased windows from other ES suppliers and sold them under their name, but this had not happened for 18 months. Sunrise was using the ES logo on their website. We are now out $320.00 energy rebate on the windows and Sunrise only received a slap on the wrist from NRCan about the ES logo use, as they lied and claimed that we did not order ES windows. Prior to our investigation, Sunrise had asked us to pay $10.00 per window, if we chose to have the ES labels and included this on our contract. Also, their installation crew was dirty and the work was poor. No tarps were used on our hardwood floors, or bathtub to protect them from plaster, wood chips and workboots. We were promised 4 workers on site and only 2 arrived , as the other 2 showed late in the day 90 minutes before the job was done. The work was rushed, oak casings were split during installation and we asked for repairs and they have refused to return. Sunrise took our money and ran. Service Alberta suggested that our contract was not specific enough, but felt that we would win if we pursued civil action agiant Sunrise. We are out $320.00 and have to pay for our own repairs to the oak window casings. Sunrise are ethically void, take advantage of seniors, misrepresent their products and provide poor workmanship. NRCan has asked them to remove the ES logo from their website (big deal). Profit is the only thing that seems to matter to them. BUYER BEWARE with Sunrise Windows and Doors in Edmonton.
