Contracted "The Concrete Guys" mid spring for a tear out and new concrete driveway, an initial deposit was given. They started tear out 6 weeks later, a little at a time over 10 days leaving multiple piles of debris over the process.
Concrete was formed and poured within the following week, they returned 6 days later to cut lines. Leaving a huge mess on neighbour's property. It has been 3 months since and they have not returned to do the finishing work and clean-up.
I paid un full day of pouring, HUGE MISTAKE. Many attempts have been made to set up finishing work always met with a new excuse. If you have already contracted them I advise not making full payment till job is finished and cleaned up. At an extra expense to me I have cleaned up my neighbour's property and paid for removal of leftover lumber and debris.
Unprofessional staff, spotted urinating between houses. One asked for a ride home because he couldn't do anymore work by noon due to no way to tear up more, out of room due to debris and no way to transport it.
Now they send people by as a reference, but can't seem to finish the job. This gives me the opportunity to point out the improper grading and cracks already forming.
UPDATE IN REGARDS TO COMPANY'S RESPONSE : They denied even doing the job when review was first submitted, now they state that a rep contacted me saying the job was completed to my satisfaction. The only attempts to communicate were me attempting to set up parging and clean up, 6 attempts over the months. I have added the pictures of what they call a complete job. Sept 25 2016
This job was done to satisfaction and he has never contacted us.Our rep even spoke to this person and the client said he was happy
I would not recommend Greg and his company Concrete Guys.
We hired them to remove a footing for porch stairs (had shifted and were uneven) and form and pour a 18" x 6' landing pad for the new stairs. He said he was able to come the next day and do the job.
We were going out of town and I offered to leave the cash payment in the mailbox. Well, he came the next day and picked up the payment. Didn't do any work. Talked to him and got a story about truck trouble. Gave him benefit of the doubt, he promised it would be done the next day, the concrete is in my truck right now. Greg likes to make promises. He is not so good at delivering.
We were out of town for four days, returned to the work still not started. Text and call again. "Fired five guys this week" and More promises. A couple days later the old pad gets chipped out this is only like 10 square feet of concrete. A very small job. Didn't form or pour the new pad! Wtf?
Four days later the new pad still has not been done.
I am without steps to my front door for almost two weeks now. The promises aren't making any work get done. I poured the footing myself, he said he would reimburse me my money. It's been three weeks.
A dozen texts , "I'm on vacation this week, will bring money next week" and promises later still no return of my money. I even ran into him at a store near my house, "will drop off the money this afternoon".
Yeah, he never did. It's been a week since then.
Concrete guys, you are terrible at pouring concrete I guess, because you couldn't even get your act together to do a small job.
You are terrible at running your business and managing your projects. I am pretty sure you are a good mix of scammer and failed business owner.
I will edit my review if he ever pays us back, but not much hope in that, obviously.
Edit in response to rebuttal below.
That is your response? When you put your name on a business card and hand it out, as well as posting your business on REVIEW sites, you have to accept what your customers have to say.
I may have been able to give you a good review. Unfortunately you never made it back to show off your skill and workmanship.
You were the one who said you would come the next day when I contacted you for this small job. You came and took the money from my mailbox and never said a thing with regards to coming back.
I had to contact you numerous times and you said you would be there next day numerous times.
That is exactly how this played out.
You even implied you would be back this past Tuesday to settle up. You never showed, you never called. Clearly this is your pattern.
Suck up your bad reviews and own your words/promises.
We removed the concrete and got busy. The situation will be rectified.Everyone has bad things to say and nothing good. When there happy they forget you. When there not they bad mouth you as much as possible. This is a gossip site. Many satisfied people. Some bad custom era
Gave me an estimate and schedule for work. Worker came to my home on time and did an excellent job. I was very happy with the work. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.
Received an Estimate in April of 2016. Gave Greg Ellen a three week time frame to complete the job. The only work that was complete was window wells and drain train which I paid $700 cash. Another $1000 deposit was made.
1/4 of the work was done with another $1000 deposit.
Many attempts of communication through phone calls and texts- I took 24 hrs + for anyone to return a simple call or text! After many attempts, Greg said he wouldn't pour concrete on hot day. We counted numerous cement trucks this week delivering/completing their run.
Our family holidays were taken and our hard earned money as well.
Disappointed with their service and lack of character.
We have since fired The Concrete Guys and would not recommend their service to anyone.
Why should our money be left to someone who didn't earn it?
