I called "the garage door Company," Mark Wiebe showed up with his helper shortly before noon on Aug 2 2023.They done the repair's i was charged $1467.68 i commented to Mark seems a bit high his come back was it's the" going rate. I took the invoice to several businesses there quote's were between $450.00-$650.00.
Please never ever call this company. I had few problem at my garage door. So they put the flayer at my house. I called them and I told them there is a gape at my door and key pad does not working. The owner of company came very soon and I showed them the problems. He said he will repair the problems and it will cost $502 I. Agreed and I paid this amount. After 20 minutes he told me it done and he was ready to go. I found out all of problem was remain and gape and key pad no repair. He said I have to go I am behind and I will come at Friday or Saturday to finish. I call him many time at Friday to know when he want to be at my home. It was recording that saying left massage we answer you after one or tw minute. He did not answer me during 14 hours. So after many calls he told me if you call me again I will call police so I called again and finally he said to me I have no time to come. I was asking for refund but he was very very rude to me.
This guy DOES NOT run an HONOURABLE BUSINESS. On Saturday November 27th, 2021 we called him out for a garage door repair. He told us our door opener was not rated for the weight of our door, so we bought what we thought was a new garage door opener. We also replaced another garage door opener, giving him a total of $2200.00 of business. We paid cash. After 1 hour one of the openers would not work. We called him and asked hm to come back. He told us it would be 4-5 days. I told him my door wouldn't open. I fixed the problem on my own. A few days later the other garage door would not close properly -- leaving a gap at the bottom. We called him. He told us 4-5 days. He clearly did not care about his service or our issue. We hired another guy to come out to fix the door. On December 15th, 2021 the door would not close at all. It was -16 and the door was completely open. We called him and he said he is busy and hung up on the phone on my wife. We tried calling him back 12x but he would not take the call. This guy WILL NOT HONOUR HIS WORK. Also, look down on his reviews and look at his responses to other unhappy customers. At least one of them shows that he is not at all an honourable person. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN OR THIS COMPANY. We will be considering legal action and a report to CRA and the BBB. Do not trust this guy. If you need to speak directly with me, please contact me through Google.
If you are looking to have your garage door repaired please, please, please consider other options before choosing Homestead Garage Doors, aka The garage door company, both of which are owned by Mark Wiebe. There are several complaints against them with the BBB, as well as several other sites plus Global News did a piece on him. Not only is the billing shady he is condescending and rude. We had him out to do warranty work on a spring and was told we would be charged $99 for the labour. When he arrived to complete the work the total was now $155 because he had tacked on a travel fee. When I became angry at the fact that this was not disclosed when I spoke to him previously NOR did I think that such a charge should be given when doing warranty work. He drove away. I called him back once the initial shock of his actions sunk in and demanded he return to fix the agreed upon service as per the warranty. He said only if I paid the amount he set out. Being that I don’t want to pay for another service call nor wait for another service company I said fine but that I was extremely upset with his billing practices and customer service. If this had not been warranty work I’m sure things would have played out much differently.

This guy is a nightmare. Stay away from this guy. He hides behind multiple business names. He is notorious scam artist and even made it on Global News Hour for his scamming. I hope Karma catches up with you Mark Wiebe, pretending to be a good Christian, going around ripping people off with inflated prices and not fixing the problem. He is a absolute piece of a crap. Just Google this idiots name and you will find all kinds of people out there that feel the same way. How someone like this can have a business is unbelievable. Save your self the aggravation and find a real overhead door repair company. P.S. another alias he goes by is Homestead Garage Doors.
Hello Darren,
You called us for EMERGENCY garage door service on a SUNDAY. We arrived on site and prepared a written quote, which you signed. We immediately completed the work. You paid. You did NOT indicate any dissatisfaction whatsoever. You seemed pleased.
Several days later we returned to your residence to warranty our work. Again job done, and door working fine. No charge. Again you did NOT indicate any dissatisfaction whatsoever.
We fixed your door as per our written quote, and then several days later we warrantied our work.
I'm puzzled. If there is a problem we are only a phone call away.
The very best to you.
Mark
The Company hasn't completed their task which began over a month ago. They attempted to charge me more to complete the task despite having an agreed upon price prior to commencing. I contacted The Garage Door Company Ltd in Calgary on Dec 3rd, 2015. I was given their name by my brother in law who had hired them to perform the very service I was seeking. In fact, as it turns out the equipment and accompanying service that my brother in law hired them to do was exactly the same as what I asked them to do. Total cost for equipment and service $855.49 . The Company owner Mark Wiebe and his son Casper (nice young man) arrived that afternoon and after showing me a copy of the invoice given to my brother in law for the service they provided him, asked me for approval for the identical service with the identical opener and accompanying parts. I was expecting that the job they were hired for would be completed that day, I was soon to find out I was wrong. There was no mention that the Keypad was going to require a return visit until they had removed the old lifter, installed the new one, the infrared sensors and the wall mounted switch. It was at that point that Mark Wiebe informed me that the outdoor keypad was on back order and that they'd notify me when it was received and that they'd need to return back to complete its install. Had they told me this when the initial order was made prior to them arriving, rather than after the opener was installed, I would have in all likelihood looked for and hired another company. Although our old lifter was acting up, it was still working so the situation wasn't an emergency. Despite this, I was assured that it would be just a few days and that they'd have the new keypad in place within the following week. I heard nothing from this company until I called them two weeks later. During that conversation, not only did I have to remind Mark of who I was and the circumstances around my install he also came across like I was an inconvenience.
I was told that new keypads were in fact in stock and that they'd get back to me with a scheduled time to do the install. Of course, they didn't call me back with a scheduled date on that day or any day after that day so after a week I contacted them. The owner, Mark Wiebe answered the call and again was rude and extremely unprofessional which seems to be his MO. Because he seems out of touch with his customers I asked him specifically about cost; I wanted to make sure that he remembered that the price agreed upon included the cost of the Keypad and its installation. His answer was surprising; one would expect he'd say, no worries the cost of the keypad and the install were part of the original price and we'll look after it as soon as possible, Not Mark however, his reply to me was whatever, it's no skin of my nose either way! Now doesn't that inspire ones confidence?
In looking and comparing invoices my brother in law asked me why I was charged the travel charge, despite the install not being an emergency like his was. He called on a weekend and Mark Wiebe charged him the travel charge because of that fact. In looking at my invoice, Mark made the very same charge on my invoice despite there not being an emergency and it not occurring on a weekend. This could have been an oversight but I wasn't taking any chances.
This is the worst service I've experienced in a very long time, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY or ITS OWNER TO ANYONE for ANYTHING!
One Star is way too good for this guy.. BUYER BEWARE!
