We had to replace our shingled roof and were unhappy with the traditional options of granular shingles and metal roofing. We had originally installed a 35 year warrantied granular ashphalt shingles on our new construction home some 15 years ago and they just did not stand up to the conditions on the Atlantic coast in Nova Scotia. A review of manufacturer complaints with the Better Business Bureau convinced us that a repeat of this type of installation would result in the same problem in the future regardless of promises of 45 year plus warranties. Our location close to the ocean also made the use of a metal roof problematic given the manufacturer's limits to warranty because of our proximity to the ocean.

A search for alternatives led us to the Euroshield Rubber Roof shingle. The company that produces the product had a very good Better Business Review and the specifications of the product seemed to be perfect for our application. The challenge was finding an installer given that the product is just starting to make inroads in Nova Scotia. The Rubber Roof Supply Company was very helpful in identifying possible installers but they were hesitant to use a new product and therefore tacked on excessive costs to their estimates. In the end The Rubber Roof Supply Company agreed to take on the installation. They did an excellent job and we were impressed with the crew's attention to detail and pride in their work. They paid special attention to the valleys, edges, kits around the wood stove chimneys, sun tunnels and sky light. Their custom drip edges along the gable ends and along the guttering have made for an excellent finish.

Of course time will tell as to whether the product will stand up to the conditions along the coast; but we feel very confident given the manufacturer's warranty and actual performance of their product in Alberta and British Columbia.

Mark and his crew at the Rubber Roof Supply Company were just excellent both in helping us navigate this purchase and in their installation work. They are professional, attentive to their clients concerns and take great pride in their work. I have no hesitation in recommending them to you.

Despite being a two hr drive for him for the initial estimate and the fact he did a second trip just to be sure everything was accurate, Mark was a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire project which took roughly 2 weeks to complete. I very much liked the fact that everything which needed to be replaced was done so with quality and longevity in mind. No shortcuts were taken and everything was done to meet and exceed my expectations. All options were explained out in full with pros and cons so I could make my own informed decisions. We had the Euroshield Beaumont Shake locking rubber shingles installed and we couldn't be happier with the results. Every neighbor that passes by comments on how nice they look and it was all made possible by Ex-Men Renovators. Timewise the entire job completion did slightly exceed initial expectations but is justifiable considering the crew of 3-4 people and the attention to detail.

We needed several things done at our cottage that included lifting and levelling a shed, installing new windows with custom cladding, siding repair and roofing.

EX-Men Renovators were punctual, knowledgeable, and friendly. Couldn't be more pleased with their work!

Having the roof replaced by the Ex-men Renovators has proven to be a very smart choice. These new shingles made from car tires are very sturdy and look great on the roof.The men worked very hard and the job looks great.

The EX-men Renovators did an excellent job at removing the old shingles with no leftover mess and installed the new roof in a very meticulous manner. Their crew worked quickly and safely employing the necessary fall restraint equipment. Any problems that were discovered were promptly brought to my attention with suggested resolution before proceeding. They removed portions of the siding to ensure new flashing was properly installed and reinstalled better than the original. They even went out of their way to repair things that were outside their area of responsibilities such as securing a number of loose soffits that I had neglected and totally cleaned out the drain troughs of debris which had collected for years. I feel very confident that I have a new roof that will last me many, many years. I highly recommend this company for any building or repair project.

We have been extremely impressed since our first communications with Ex-men Renovators. When the previous company we asked to do the work for us were unable to meet their commitment we went online to find contractors in the area of our cottage in Northport NS. We got an immediate response from Mark and arrangements were made to meet with them that weekend to discuss options, pricing, timelines etc. We were looking for a roof that would withstand high winds, lots of salt spray and heavy winter weather. The guys came on time, were prepared to discuss our options and presented us with another one - the Euroshield- for consideration. They answered all of our questions and did not pressure us into buying one product over another. They measured the roof and door that day and we received quotes for bothby email in a very timely manner. All questions about the quotes were answered immediately and we went ahead with the order. We knew that the roofing was coming from Calgary, the cost of the roofing, the shipping, installation etc. We had regular communication related to the project and as soon as the materials arrived arrangements were made for the guys to install it. When we went up on the following Sunday to see their progress we were surprised to see them there and they were just finishing up. Not only was the work amazing and the roof gorgeous, the worksite was clean and all debris was removed. The cottage was left as they found it with the exception of the work that they did. There is always a concern when you have work like this being done and you cant be on site however Mark, Jessica and their crew were incredible to work with and we would not hesitate to have them work for us again. We highly recommend Ex-Men Renovators. They would be a 5 Star company in our books!
