I contacted Wayne Lanthier, the owner of The ScreenMasters Company, a few weeks ago to repair a damaged screen in our apartment. Himself and his coworker came to my apartment two days later, and as they were unable to repair the screen on site, they took it away to be repaired. A week passed and I called Wayne for an update. Four more days passed and I received no return call from Wayne. I called several times, left messages and a few days later Wayne finally answered one of my calls. He seemed almost shocked, like he didn't mean to answer my call, or in some kind of hurry and said they had to order parts for my screen, had just fixed it and that he could install the screen. We agreed on a date and time and I took time off to be at home for his installation. Two days later, our agreed time came and went and Wayne never showed up to install the screen. I called his cell phone, my call went unanswered yet again, and I left a message. As the day went on I called a few more times, and still nothing. It's been almost a week since I last spoke to Wayne and he has not returned a single one if my calls. I went to check his website this evening to see if I could contact him to make a complaint through another avenue, but his website is now offline. Wayne Lanthier is nothing more than a scam artist and has no respect for anyone's time but his own. I don't know what kind of person steals an innocent families window screens, but I guess Wayne Lanthier is that person. Avoid him and his ventures at all costs if you want my opinion. If he has in fact gone out of business, it seems like he knew it was coming and was an utter coward about it. We're now left with no screen for our window during one of Ottawa's hottest summers.
