Eric has installed carpet for me numerous times for various projects and moves over the last 13 years. Always the best quality carpet, service and price! This has also been consistent to any referral sent his way. Highly recommended and beats any big big box to store standards.
Extremely satisfied with the service we received.
We posted a request for flooring installation on a Wednesday and had the work completed the following Monday. Communication was smooth, friendly and professional.
We initially chose this company due to their promise of professional work with no shortcuts taken, and they definitely delivered. Even in areas where we ourselves said could be simplified, the work was cheerfully done in the highest quality manner at no extra charge.
We hired Total Home and Flooring to replace our carpet and kitchen/laundry room tiles. Eric gave us a good price and his crew were all very pleasant, but the project didn't go off without a hitch. There were several delays, due to lack of communication on Eric's part. We felt we often needed to be on top of things, in order to get them to work each day. They showed up later than scheduled on certain days and failed to notify us. The work took longer than expected. In the end, I would say their work was satisfactory. They did a great job on the carpets and the tiling was decent - but not great. Some of the tiles are not level, nor is the grout work. But, it was an improvement from the old tile we had prior. We are thankful for the time and effort they put in during the holidays.
After reading your rebuttal, I have to ask - how do you explain the less than satisfactory tile installation in the kitchen, on the main level? There are no drains there, or sloping floors. Granted, it took us about a week to decide to go ahead with the project, given the time of year, and the fact that you weren't properly insured, but this has absolutely nothing to do with the job that was done. It was satisfactory at best! Less than a year later and the carpet is unraveling and lifting off the stairs.
As far as your insurance goes - you got it the day you began working for us. Your papers had the date stamp to prove it. We were not prepared to hire you unless you were properly insured, so the delay was partly your doing. We had every right to ensure our contractor was properly insured. Huge liability otherwise.
As the saying goes - "you get what you pay for!"
OK so I was going to be the bigger person "as I had to with only this one of the 5 tenants in this house."over the course of this project but due to the fact that I have not even had a single reply since this irresponsible post and due to the fact that this person is simply not telling the truth and spent the entire time I was there putting up roadblocks. Between my self and the actual paying customer. First delays on my part? I'm speechless. I was out at the house at least 10 different times. One time we had arragend an appointment that I had to go to my suppliers out in Toronto for special samples. I was in the way to this house after spending the better part of the day hunting the right product for this person. Then I got an email saying that they weren't going to be doing the work for awhile and not to bother coming. We had a verbal agreement and I had turned down other jobs to do this one. Then with one message I lost about a weeks work. Then I was ready to go again the next week but delays by them based on viewing v my ins and such. Well I've been in business over twenty years and I haven't ever had to physically show my ins. So I needed to get my agent to send me a copy. I was waiting to go from the start but this was there request to wait till I had the form. As far as having to get me to show up everyday?? First who is we? It's the customers sister who lives with her parents in this house. And it's just another mis truth. I had explained from the beginning I wouldn't be there till 10-11 everyday due to a medical treatment I was having in the mornings. Then there's all the delays caused by my generosity like removing the existing Vynyl. It usually comes out with ease in one piece. This stuff was put in with contact cement. It took two guys over 5 hrs to remove. This is typically a cost absorbed by the customer. And the reason the job took a little longer although it was still completed on time. Then there was the laundry room with a gas dryer and laundry tub . It was another thing that I could have done a short cut on considering it was not my responsibility to remove either. But I did it. I even came back over the holidays for them to hook up all the plumbing drain and lines for these people. And this is the thanks I get? All this work was done and it was done well. The tiles in the basement were following the natural slope to the drain. I explained that you cannot level out the drain. It's sloped for a reason and the tiles may be a little off due to it. This particular customers employment should have not allowed to have made a comment.especially one that is just plain out not the truth. Now I was given no choice to tell my side of this. In fact there may be further steps taken if it's not ended satisfactory. I have saved all my emails with the sister of the customer. I can back up all this.
I have been working with Eric for almost a decade. He is very reliable and always gets the job done in a timely fashion.
I have referred Eric in the pasted and will continue to do so.
