At first the reno started out really well.

I'm still waiting for reimbursement for a window and am apparently being ghosted.

We worked with Andrew and UCL to replace an old fence and to landscape our backyard which was in a terrible shape. Andrew came highly recommended from our real estate agent.

Overall:

We had a very positive experience with Andrew and UCL. We are new homeowners and this was our very first time doing a project like this. We will definitely be working with them again on other projects. As stated below, there were certain things for which they had to come back and fix. I was positively surprised as I have seen too many horror stories of other people where the contractors don’t come back once they have been paid in full.

Positives:

• Right from the first meeting, he left a positive impression as he was very honest and offered many suggestions on what needs to be changed and what can be left as is. This was opposite of our experience with some of the other quotes we received.

1. When the UCL team came, they worked quickly and efficiently but not in a hurry.

2. As we were quite busy, we did not have a chance to spend time in our backyard until 2 months after UCL had left. We discovered a couple of things that were not done to our liking and also a border around the garden bed that was not installed. I had forgotten to check when they were leaving.

3. I called Andrew obviously being in an unhappy state. Andrew called me back and was very calm and sent people to fix the issues within a week. He had already been paid and he did not make any comments on why we did not raise these issues earlier.

Negative:

The only negative is that our project was delayed couple of months due to Covid. However, during this time Andrew kept us updated.

Excellent workmanship. They did such a great job and were quick and efficient.

Quality of work was very professional, done on time and as quotes. Andrew’s team were excellent and we were extremely pleased with the final product.

Chose this company for a few reasons: First impression on the phone, great in person meeting, quality of work, price.

Originally only wanted a fence replaced as the old one was unsightly and a safety hazard. We were very happy with the work on the fence including the hand made gate - not a prefab. We accepted there may be issues with supplies due to COVID but only thing we waited on where metal fence caps.

Impressed with the fence, we decided to get quotes on the front patio, steps, and rear patio and steps. We had removed a wood deck and the ground was covered in patio stones and was not graded properly.

Happy with the work and Andrew and Pat were some of the nicest people we've met.

Zero hesitation for the next project.....removal of backyard grass, grading, new sod, and walkway.

I used Universal Construction Group to complete my unfinished basement. From start to finish, Andrew and the whole team, were very pleasant to work with. They were very professional, answered all of my questions/concerns, and made me feel at ease throughout the entire project. I received so many compliments on my basement and it is all because of Universal. I will definitely be using their services in the future.

We called a number of companies to do the fencing in our subdivision and Universal Construction Group was the fairest and the most reliable contractor. They committed to a start date and delivered. The workmanship is impeccable and all the neighbors were happy with their professionalism, commitment and qualify of their work.
