University First Class Painters is a nationwide student contracting company. Our franchises are devoted exclusively to interior and exterior painting along with the accompanying minor repairs and cleaning services.

University First Class Painters was formed in 1982 by Michael Benteau. At that time, Michael was a 19 year old university student in his first year of a business degree. Like many students, he needed a summer job to help him pay for the cost of obtaining a university degree. In the true spirit of entrepreneurship, he recruited his best friend and the two set out to run a small painting business that resulted with tremendous success!

Michael realized that there was a very strong demand, then as there is now, for a good quality paint job offered at a reasonable price and he devoted his next two summers to establishing University First Class Painters in the Halifax Metropolitan area. Once he graduated with his business degree, his full-time efforts focused on establishing and expanding University First Class Painters to a national level.

Over the years, the company has grown into one of the biggest student painting organizations in Canada, providing employment for hundreds of students as painters and providing rewarding business experience for our Franchise Managers and General Managers.

The reason for our continued success and tremendous growth is very basic; a genuine concern for total customer satisfaction. Simple in statement but difficult to follow; we strive for 100% customer satisfaction. Our system is designed and redesigned to achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction. We feel that this is the key to building a strong clientele and is essential for achieving the benefits of word of mouth advertising.
