Kevin put in a fence for us this past summer. He did a great job, we have no complaints at all. He was quick, clean, and courteous. Communication was a breeze, as he was very good getting back to emails. There was no sense of having to chase him down like we've had to with other contractors in the past. We were out of town on the last day of the job and were not able to pay him till we got back a few days later, Kevin didn't make an issue of it.
Thanks very much Kevin!
Kevin quoted the amount and the time it would take to do my bathroom. He never wavered from either. He was always courteous and friendly, making me feel comfortable having him in my home. My bathroom was done exactly as I wanted and I love it. Kevin even suggested an accent stripe in the tub area that was being tiled but didn't push it. I decided to do it and am glad I did. It really adds to the decor. I would use Kevin again for other projects in my home and plan to in the future.
Kevin removed an old bathtub, installed a new tub, and installed tile. Everythihng was done in a timely fashion, professionally, and with good communication. I was pleased with the project overall, and the pricing was very good. I plan to get Kevin back for future projects.
After purchasing all the materials in advance and realizing I had bitten off more than I could chew, I contacted Kevin to install a bath tub, counter top, and faucets. Kevin removed our old tub and installed the new one with tiles set on the walls.
After the work was completed, we noticed the tub faucet was not operating as we expected. After contacting Kevin, he quickly came back to see what the issue was. He idendified there was a small missing part in the faucet package I had purchased, and ordered the new part on our behalf. Once the part arrived, he returned and installed the missing part and our faucet is now working perfectly.
The work was completed in a timely manner, and we are pleased with the finished product. I really appreciate Kevin's efforts to return to our house and address our concerns.
I will definitely use Kevin's services and would recommend him to friends and family in the future.
I contracted Kevin to put a fence up to pen in my dogs. From the moment I spoke to Kevin on the telephone, I felt totally taken care of and respected considering I am a single female with no experience in this field. Kevin offered excellent advice in a friendly and professional manor. He listened to my concerns and helped me to build a vision of how my new dog pen would look. His quote was very reasonable and he completed the work quickly and efficiently. The standard of work is superb, with detail paid to every aspect of the job. There were no surprises and completed right on budget. An extra nice touch was the step he made for the dogs with scraps to replace the failing Rubbermaid one I had purchased, with no extra cost to me. I would not hesitate to recommend him to all my family and friends. I certainly will be using Kevin and Urban Improvements in the future.
Kevin did a great job fixing my backyard. I had a drain grate in my backyard he made it higher so I could put sod down to complete my backyard. He also got the area ready for my hot tub to go in.
Backyard looks awesome!!! thanks again !!

I hired Kevin to put a bedroom in my basement. As he was doing the job I would question different things he had done and was made to feel like it was unimportant. When bringing the studs, etc in they dinged the wall in the foyer and then again going down to the basement - never showed this to him since I needed my project finished asap before company arrived I thought he might not come back to finish the job . When he was finished he had neglected to put a closet in the bedroom and said he would come back in afew weeks when my company left to finish the job but he has never shown up or replied to my emails. I paid him in full and in cash this was my problem. The tape in the drywall for the ceiling was coming off within a week. He used inferior materials for the trim and the workmanship was poor. He didn't finish around the window and didn't supply the doorknob for the door and the door looks like one he might have taken out of somewhere else. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
This project was completed in June 2011 and I had heard no complaints until this testimonial was written. There is a clause in my contract stating that any concerns or complaints are to be made within 48 hours of completion of said project and I have heard nothing until this testimonial was written. Contract was paid in full which constitutes satisfaction of work completed.
Inferior/second hand materials are never used in my projects and as for the closet issue the original plan was that it wasn't to be built within the room but rather outside of it and to be completed within the scope of completing the rest of the basement at a later date.
Kevin was hired to do a renovation on our basement bathroom. He started November 9 (2011) and despite his undergoing an appendectomy half-way through the job, still worked within our tight schedule to finish before month’s end. Kevin truly went above and beyond our expectations and we won’t hesitate to hire him for future work around our home.
We had hired Kevin to do a considerable amount of interlocking for us when my almost three year old son was diagnosed with leukemia. Unsure of our financial future, we felt that it would be best to prepare our house for sale if need be. We were given a very reasonable quote by Kevin. The cost of the project seemed to keep inflating as it progressed. Upon completion, everything looked fantastic, we even gave him another smaller job inside the house. When the snow finally disappeared after winter, I could plainly see that the interlocking Kevin had done was all settling towards the house. I called him about the situation immediately. He came and took a look and assured me that he would fix it up 100% but would like for the ground to settle a little more. That was in April. I have left him multilpe messages since then, however he never calls me back.
This interlocking project occurred in November 2010 and as stated to the customer that settling may occur where the soul base layer against the foundation which was disturbed may settle.
This did occur and I have full intentions of repairing this project to the customers satisfaction.
