Ryan Vopni of Working on a Dream was an excellent choice for my renovation. He personally saw this project through from beginning starting with careful and exact demolition to the final painting and finishing touches. His team came highly recommended to me from a friend. Ryan's ideas were great and always cost effective. I would highly recommend Working on a Dream to anyone. He and his courteous team will be doing my laundry room renovation in the near future.
Ryan Vopni turned my renovation into a nightmare. He cannot frame, lay a sub floor, hang a door, hang a toilet paper holder or do any kind of plumbing. The inspector failed his plumbing jobs twice and I had to get a plumber in to do the job correctly and only then did the plumbing pass inspection. Metal straps were put on my copper pipes to hold them in place. This man framed my bathroom without putting a bottom base for the studs instead he hilted/nailed them to the cement wall or the sub floor. He used painter's tape to secure an air vent to the exhaust fan in the bathroom. He hung 2 doors in the bathroom the first having the hole for the knob 28", hinge at the top 41/2" down and the bottom hinge only approximately 1' up from bottom. The second door was better but the hole for the door knob was 32" and the hinges almost matched but Ryan took out the support for the hollow door that he purchased and never replaced it because he had to cut the door down to size of frame. When told the first door was not staying, he was not pleased said he hung doors like this in his own home. He said I had to make an 80" door fit into a 74" frame. Why would you buy a pre hung door knowing that the frame was not a standard size. Then to purchase another door pre hung again tells me everything, Ryan was out of his league when it came to this renovation job. His trim and drywalling are his best features but having said that the trim around the door was cut too short and the screws are already coming through the drywall.
The sub floor squeaked so badly in the bathroom that someone had to come here and take up the laminate flooring and fix it.
There are so many things that are wrong with the renovations and this job was to take approximately 4 weeks and it is still not finished because of all the mistakes made by Ryan. There are so many things wrong with this renovation it is easier to list what he did right, --------------------------- sorry drawing a blank. I have approximately 200 pictures of these mistakes so I will post them on facebook. Ryan needs to stick to what he can do okay and get more experience by working with tradesmen/woman, he should never be allowed to work alone or unsupervised.
We didn't have a major job, but that didn't stop Ryan from treating it like one. He did a fantastic job and was available on short notice after Cordano's Custom Renovations cancelled on us on the hour he was supposed to show up via email, not even a phone call. We got a hold of Ryan right after and the rest is history. Not only did he take care of our drywalling project, he showed us how to fix a bad tile in our kitchen. Just an all round great guy.
He is a hard worker and perfectionist. I would highly recommend him for any home reno you are thinking of doing.
Thanks Ryan.
I called Working on a Dream Construction when my ensuite shower was leaking. Ryan, the owner came to my house and told me what he was going to do and also provided a quote, I agreed to hire him instead of the other Contractors because his quote was reasonable and he also took the time to explain what he was going to do. He demolished the plastic base in the shower and replaced it with a new cereamic base after he built up the subfloor, so it would be high enough to use some tiles I had that matched the rest of the shower walls. Once the job was completed it looked amazing and been Working like a Dream shower!
I was so impressed with Ryan's quality workmanship, I also hired him to paint my house. Thanks to Working on a Dream my house looks amazing and I'm enjoying it very much. I highly recommend Working on a Dream Construcrtion and the quality workmanship that Ryan provides. I will definatey use this company again when I need work done in and around my home!
