We own a 1937 Heritage Art Deco home (in Kitchener, ON) with a typical deco cement ornamental frame around the front door. One level of the cement has cracked and someone tried to fix it years ago with more cement (didn't work!)
Where do we start looking for someone to repair the entrance so it blends in with the existing concrete? Are there folks out there who specialize in this sort of thing?
Incidentally, the front steps should also be re-done, but they do not face the same challenge of colour/texture match.
Hi Heather, It sounds like you have a great house and I like to hear that you are concerned with maintaining the "character" instead of just covering it all up somehow.
You would need to have someone come and have a look at your situation so you can get a few different opinions on the possible repair methods.
You can put this is the "post your projects" section and get replies from some local craftspeople. They should be able to tell you what can be done and how to do it for a permanent repair.
Good Luck with it!

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. I will re-post this in the "post your projects" section.
