Bad contractor experience

Hi All,
Just wanted to share my story and experienced hiring this person. Back in Sept I hired him for a front yard work. I should have know from the start he is not going to do a good job since I chose him because it was really cheap compared to others, and this was my mistake.
He walked off the job after a few days of work. He never replied to my text or calls then I decided to find an expert. Thankfully found a great landscaper, his name is Rick del Bello. He was able to fix and complete the job in a very professional way.
Learning experience - always ask for references or photos, etc. He wasn't even close to completing this job.
Hope this save some bucks to someone.

You also get what you pay for! I get people calling me with $25,000 to do a basement..it now costs in 2015 $50-60,000 average to do a basement of 800-1200sqft. min with permits and meeting all codes done to your satisfaction by a reputable contractor. I now charge for quotes as I am sick and tired of driving around all day giving people free quotes for jobs they cannot even begin to pay for or are too cheap to pay a legitimate contractor what it costs to do a proper job and hire these cheapo turkeys who then rip them off! giving the rest of the industry a bad name.
