Before hiring a contractor you must take percauctions.we have done some verifications on our own and found many false testimonial reviews.
Some have photo that have been down loaded form suppliers who advertise thier goods We asked some contractors if they can provide the before and after in relationship to there testimonials of the photos they publish on handycanadian as handycanadian dose not do verifications but if that can have prove they will remove them. We made a quest to some contractors to provide us proof tfo before and after project but none were ablle
Great advice. For liability purposes we always take before and after pictures as well as a written report, even on the smallest of jobs.
Good advice for all.

It's always going to happen, that these sites will inevitably have "fly-by-night" renovators who post false reviews and pictures.
It is a policy of mine to always take before and after pictures of every job. These pictures should be readily available in a portfolio.
Better still, if the contractor is reputable, they should have at least one client who would be able to show the completed work as it relates to the photos.
A general rule of thumb in any business transaction. If there seems to be any doubt in the decision making, keep looking until you feel comfortable. Trust the facts, and make sure they are backed up with concrete evidence.
