I am looking at many small jobs that aren't that difficult to complete and would be using a junior guy, what rates are people charging in the lower mainland BC? on one we just have back filing the 6" gravel over drainage pipe,

There is no such thing as a "going rate" in my opinion.

You have to charge your hourly rate based on your business plan. Your business plan is based on your direct, indirect and profit costs. If you charge "what the other guy charges" you could quickly be losing money because they do not have the same overhead costs as you.

The question is if your rates are competitive or not? To be competitive, you may have to cut some of your costs, reduce overhead, etc.

Only you can answer what is your "billable rate".
