Feedback for bad customers registered here

One thing I am not sure of on this site would be the customers who create a hard time for contractors unnecessarily.

Customers can leave feedback about us as registered contractors, but where can we voice our concerns about customers that treat us unfairly and to warn other contractors to avoid them?

Customers who change their minds after contracts are written, customers who refuse payment because something they misunderstood and blame us, customers who are not home to let us in when promised after driving 45 minutes to do work.... etc etc.

I am not looking to create a rude finger pointing..a "he said, she said" forum, but if Joe does work for Jane and Joe is not happy, nor Jim, or John, or Jack, shouldn't the next contractor be warned about the difficult times Jane has created?

Greetings Mr. Robert,

I share and sympathize your point. But I also have knowledge to share with you, we attract what we are in the universe. So I explain every creation we live, is created by our soul, so this experience today, say thank, because you've learn, you've gain experience, and many you lost some material, meaning money.

If you are a Professional, which I am sure you are. you will gain back in time, the Universe provides for all teaching as we walk this path. And remember what we put in, in life we gain back.... so if you've done well, time will give you back. It all these experiences that makes us grow, and become who we are.

I am with you brother and remember if a customer puts in bad time for other, it s like karma, it comes back to them.

Denouncing and decrying is not always the solutions, you are strong and above this problem, you will overcome.

Sincerely with you.

Andreas,

what has this got to do with the posting? It is supposed to be a constructive discussion.

HI Robert,

I agree a tool for helping the contractor avoid the "difficult" customer is a nice idea, but I think that since this website is doing more good by helping us find work, and helping customers find good contractors, implementing any tools that cut down on either of those would not be in anyones best interests.

They do let you contest any of your ratings, so if you get a bogus one they can investigate it. At least theres a tool for that, not like the BBB who never lets you contest ratings, your stuck with them, even if its bogus.

Hi Robert, really good question. Just heard about a new site that is doing just that - Randyslist - they are pitching it as the anti-angies list and it is for contractors to rate clients. Not every category but enough hints to let you know what their history is and what they are going to be like to deal with.

Check out canadiancontractor.ca for a you tube video about it.

Give it a look

Hi Robert,

I posted this same question about 3 years ago & got some pretty interesting feedback. Skip to the last page on Contractor Talk and read the posting called "Clients". I got a lot of fellow contractors heated up, we even had a client weigh in. Unfortunately, we never took it any farther than this site, but I think it's about time contractors had a outlet to warn others about bad clients.

Check out the post - maybe it will give you some ideas.

I have had only one client not pay. It was after a basement renovation. I had purchased everything and did the install as requested. When finished the project the client simply said! I did not want all that !!!! I am not paying one penny! I now do contracts on evey project, detailed contracts, and have a signature for any changes. That was 9 years ago and I have not had one issue to date.

CYA And you will never have an issue. Discuss, understand, put in a contract.
