Stewart is correct in that you do not want to use traditional cleaners. There are also specific cleaners for granite availble in hardward stores such as Home Depot and Rona.

I usually recommend my clients to use luke warm water to ease any grease or sticky substances that may be on there. After you think you got it more or less cleaned you can use any granite cleaner from, stated above, home depot or lowes and whip it down a cheese cloth to remove any streaks from the cleaner.
