Hello fellow Contractors,
Just wondering if anyone can share some examples of the wording you use when politely turning down a request for a consultation/estimate if the job is just too small. For example, painting a single room or tiling a bathroom etc.
Thank you!
Try this
"Thank you for your interest in (Company Name), however given the distance and the size of the job (Company Name) is unable to provide a competitive quote."
"Good luck with your project."
Hello you might want to try this...
Thank you kindly for your interest in getting a quote and or estimate on your project but unfortunately we do not do smaller jobs such as this. We can however refer your request to a company we know to handle these types of jobs at a reasonable price for you.
I have always found honesty goes a very long way doing this. I'm pretty sure most company owners here know of or dealt with smaller based companies in their fields that could perhaps take care of these smaller things. And I'm sure word of mouth advertising from that person would go a long way towards your company too. Anyhow just my thoughts.
Cheers
