I would like to hide some seams from when the drywall was installed, I thought of the popcorn ceiling for it is in the basement.

I have gone to rona and they have pails of this, I know they have rollers but how do you get the 4 inch gap from the edge?

I have seen the popcorn ceiling in other locations but they all an edge from the ceiling wall.

To get the smooth edge, you scrape off the texture when it's wet with a drywall knife. I wouldn't recomend the roller, you will always see the roller marks, unless you are very good and fast. The best way is to spray it, with compressed air. You can rent both almost anywere, and is very easy to apply.
