Hi everyone I have a question to ask because I am confused.
I went to see a client for the exterior windows to seal them repair prime and paint. There were 12 windows at the second floor and 10 windows at main floor and there all wood in badly shape.
I offered a price and they said is too high.
Before i mention what I offer I will like if somebody mention what will be a fair price.
Thanks
Your just like a customer, price depends on the condition of the windows, but I know what your after.
I would say min. $3000 It takes a long time to do a proper job and most people don't realize what's involved.
So don't feel bad when they say the price is too high, you will always get that response from some people.
I've spent 7 hours prep and paint for one window that was in real bad shape, do you think I charged or would take $100 for a window like that.
Quality takes time.
Thank you James for your response.
I gave him a price of $3200 to do the windows and client respond i am way too expensive He found somebody else to do them all for $1300.00. And I told them thank you good luck.
My point is why some general contractors slice prices so much .
Chances are they are not giving the quality you might have offered. If the home is $300,000 then people wont spend money on good quality repairs. You generally have to guage the home with the cost you anticipate.
You wouldn't put in teak around those windows, you would use normal pine and then seal or paint. Now teak would be used in thsoe cedar homes or log homes costing $2.5 M...
Electrilight
1300 for 22 windows, including 12 on a second floor...must be using a huge spray gun and painting whole house at once :)
