Time to blow up my exisiting business site ...
Looking for a platform that will allow me to complete my updates on my own instead of through my web developer such a pictures, tips, etc.
Anybody usng Wordpress?
Do you like it?
Pros/cons
Easy to use?
Any other programs that you would recommend?
Thanks for the input and help.
Dave
Wordpress is the best CMS for the novice web builder and will let you post a variety of media easily.
Hi Dave,
I would highly recommend WIX - they have many great webpages that are easy to use. Hosting for a year is about $150.
I also tried " HomeStead" but that was hard to use and the templates are all the same.
I don't know anything about Wordpress; never tried it.
Good luck.

Hi Dave, the big question is how much do you know about computer's and website building? What is your skill level?
You can get a web domain and limited web space for already for about $5 a month. If you want to present lots of your pictures, there are a couple webspace providers available who have nice features which make it very easy for you to publish them.
However if you want to to build your own individual website, go with a pure webspace provider and install your own CMS. These systems are independent and allow you to design your site however you like it.
For example: I use the open and free CMS-System Joomla. http://www.joomla.org/ There are "Tons" of free Templates available for Joomla.
However if you prefer to have your own individual design, check out Artisteer. http://www.artisteer.com/?p=joomla&gclid=CLL93fzr07MCFSmCQgodQFoAtQ This is the tool which I used to create my website-template.
I hope I could help a bit.
Cheers Bertram

We registered our domain name through godaddy.com but created a blog to use as our official website through Wordpress.com. Anyone who types in our web address is automatically redirected to our blog address, which is designed to look, like a website.
Secondly, I have found a user friendly website Wix.com builder that you can easily do yourself if you have a registered domain name. I am in the process of building our website through Wix.
Hi dave,
I would also suggest you use Wix and depending on your design and computer knowledge you can create a highly functioning website and more importantly one that your customers can find.
All the best,
Aaron
