When were produccts first available?

A few research questions I need help with please:
When was red tuck tape first available for sale?
When was 6 mil poly first available for sale?
When was it first required by the building code?
When did it first start to be widely used (i.e. was that when the building code first started requiring it or before then)?

While i don't have exact answer for you, I can tell you that we never see 6 mm poly inside the subdivisions built in the 70's and 80's. My best guess would be that the code changes took over in the mid to late 90's.
From the Canadian Technical Tape website, they first opened shop in 1950 and were one of the first of their kind to make a pressure sensitive tape.
