I'm looking for a complete estimating software package. Does anyone have any experience with Xactware Xactremodel? It seems fairly complete and they have a great reputation in the insurance/restoration sectors.
Can anyone in south/eastern ontario comment on the accuracy of the price lists for our area?
Any input is appreciated.
I'm a former Insurance Restoration Professional who has used Xactware estimation tools for over 15 years and I can honestly say that Xactimate / Xact Remodel is the ferrari of residential / light commercial estimating tools on the market.
For most applications and the price, it's virtually unbeatable.

I went through this exercise last year and reviewed several programs. Depending on your intent, the best may be one that you create. I use Excel and make formulas that apply to what I am doing. I also contact several suppliers to get current pricing. Further, I connect with local contractors to establist a fair and average rate for my services. The "programs" do the same basic function but have some extra bells and whistles such as pictures and some pre-made forms.
The advice I received and pass on to you is to think about what you want a program to do and consider making your own, taylor-made to your situation. It can save you some money and be a better fit.
