Does the contractor that I hire to build my deck require a RBQ license?

To build deck require knowledge, no license. If they have enough knowledge even you can build you own wood deck.

I'm pretty sure now days you need a RBQ license to change a light bulb.

I am unsure where you are located - however, an RBQ license appears to be required in Quebec.
