I have a water drainage grate in my backyard. We just moved in, and we just found out about it. Apparently everyones water overflow from rain and what not drains into my backyard, into this drain.
I was wondering what are my options as far as covering it up to make it level with the rest of my lawn, maybe make it look nice?
Me thinks it would be wise to contact your municipality and see what kind of screening is permitted.
Leveling the ground renders the drain useless.
My neighbour ask me the same question. I just said better not fool with it, don't what any flooding in the neighbourhood above or below grade. In reality no ground is ever flat.
I understand that no ground is flat but a 2 foot whole on my ground and a broken "dock" covering it is super on safe. I have children and a dog that play in my backyard. I need something more secure, so there are no broken bones.
I hired a landscaper to see if there is a way to fix the problem.

I think you might be able to build a deck over it.
After looking at the picture you posted it looks like there is already a little wall. It might not be hard to build a deck over the drain and level with your sod.
Ask your Landscaper, I think it would look great.
