I've recently heard about solar paint as a means of gaining renewable energy without the cost of installing solar panels. Does anyone have further information on this or know how far off it is from being a reasonable option?
I've heard about it as well. From what I understand it can be used to replace solar panels on your house. Research also has been done persuiting painting cars, etc for energy. Everything I've read says the technology is coming. I've yet to find anywher to buy it.
Same here but I'm keeping an eye out for it as it definitely seems like exciting technology. Hopefully within the next few years we'll see solar paint marketed widely.
well i'm not sure about it. but if its beneficial to customers~ surely they will release it. but again, i think they might still be on trial so just be patient.
I'm not to great on solar energy, because in storms, there certainly would be no sun, and the lights and electricity would just go off!
Grace, I'm afraid you're misinformed. Solar power builds up within the cells that absorb the light and then it's converted to energy. The system stores what it can during the day so you can use it round the clock.
Of course solar products work during the night. Haven't you seen solar powered Christmas or path lights? They're designed specifically for night time use. The power doesn't suddenly disappear because it gets dark or cloudy.
And when it storms around here, I'm more likely to be without electricity than someone in a solar powered home! Ours goes out all the time in bad weather.
