I have a room where the walls are covered with 100s of thumb tack holes. What's the best way to repair these walls?

Use a 12" taping knife... apply general purpose drywall mud over the areas. Sand it. Prime wall and paint.

First you need to send the entire wall with sandpaper and pushing anything that sticking out from the drywall. Then skim coat the entire wall with drywall compound once it's dry sand and paint

mix some smooth consistency mud, coat over the wall top to bottom wipe completely off. Let it dry.

Coat 2 more times drying between coats.Wipe off mud.

Sand with fine paper 180 or 200 grit.
