Hi, We have 2 basement cinder-block opposite (North and South) cracked, bulges, foundation 8' walls. The bulges are 6' x 6'. The house is a 2 bdrm/1 Bath/2 level/with a basement, 1900 sq ft. Can we: Support jacks and how many?? 1) dig the dirt down exterior, 2) One side at a time, Lift (ONLY if needed to lift) the house 4" - 5" only, if needed, replace the cracked cinder-blocks, dry, done???? Do each wall one after the other, once one is dry/finished?
Horizontal cracks are much worst that vertical ones. I am worried this will collapse..... it looks really bad. I would recommend evacuate, stabilise the structure, then move back in the house. call in a structural engineer and replace the whole foundation walls with new 25 mpa concrete, reinforced with rebar vertically and horizontaly.
Exterior excavation will be required.
