2015 IKEA/Whirlpool Microwave "Start, + 30 sec" Button (left of "Power" Button in image attached) not functioning.
Online forums suggest main control board replacement may be the fix but is expensive as unit out of warranty.
Anyone happen to have found a fix for this?
Thanks,
Kerry
Considering an excellent top feature new microwave can be had for $100-$200, it is not even worth fixing them, you will in fact have a hard time even finding small appliance repair shops anymore. My advice is eco station then Wal-Mart stand alone or Home Depot for fan combo units
Thanks for your reply John from Pisces, this is a built-in unit with frame that's a combo with an oven below, regular units won't fit.
That's a bummer :( but if you really like the unit you could see if there is a mobile repair tech in your area, they are getting hard to find though like the dodo bird LOL! Personally in dealing with Ikea kitchen products for years I find the cabinets not bad but other items, the quality was on lower end and new units might be better way to go in long run, but your choice. good luck
PS: forgot to mention Ikea cabinetry is pretty easy to re-configure by a good carpenter, so you could look at that option if panels in materials are a still available from Ikea and install a new unit without removing entire section and new stove etc. They are all pretty close in size regardless. Standard microwaves are typically 30" in length and stove are 30" deep and 29 wide
