What is involved in adding a 2nd electric meter to a house in BC. I have a 1300 sq ft above ground basement suite in my home heated with electricity. My tenants leave the heat on high and the windows open!

If city zoning in your area allows for a second suite you may legally install a second meter, but all the wiring will need to be redone. If your suite is not registered you'll need to re-wire and install a second meter, and do consumption calculation your self.

I would get a second meter but the rewiring is a problem, Paul.
