Adding air duct-cost

My house has central air but one of the bedrooms does not get any air. It looks like the duct used to go up through a wall on the main floor which was removed at some point. When I put my hand into the vent, I can feel it goes nowhere.

In the downstairs den there are two vents and I would like to permanently close off one of those vents and extend that duct up to the bedroom with no air.

Any idea how much this would cost?

This is something someone needs to look at to give u a price. There is so much to look at to determine how to get upstairs, if the run you want to use is good for it or will be too long n therefor not give you enough airflow. Do we need to rip open walls, box it in a corner or closet, how much reno work will you need to do. Normally for every extra heat run its 100-200 bucks but thats all open basements or during full renos. Theres too many u knowns inside walls to say. Could be 500 could be 2000. Depends on how difficult its going to be. Thats usually a time n materials quote.

Hey Alison

Based on your information anywhere from $200 to $400 seems right. Also you never know what is behind and underneath you floors which could increase the length of work and price.

Hello Alison,

This would cost approximately $350.00

Thank you,

Katrina

Hi

We would need to do a service call for $90 to determine what needs to be done. If you go ahead with us we will deduct the $90 from the cost.
