Hi Pros,

This was the time for my attic insulation last weekend. One of the guys stepped on the ceiling and broke the ceiling. Crack is big and clearly visible. Now the company is offering to choose between pot lights one to fix that crack and others to fill up space in the living room or to get a flat ceiling as they the popcorn ceiling that I have is outdated. I have no idea which one to choose from.

Any Advice or any quote , how to fix it would be welcomed. Area of the room is 10 ft by 23 ft

Thanks

That ceiling looks like it is plaster?

The quick solution would be to install pot lights if the damaged area is where you want a pot light.

If the ceiling is plaster then I am wondering how much more plaster might be loose?

Worst scenario would be to cover the ceiling again with light weight 1/2" drywall.

It looks really outdated. I would install new drywall over it. 6 sheets of 4x 10 drywall.
